My brother just found out tonight his 5 yr old cat has a massive tumour on his kidneys and only has about two weeks to live :(   I really feel for him as we only buried my mum three wks ago and his other cat who was six yrs old had to be pts in october due to a kidney problem (not a tumour though)  Life is sometimes so very unfair :(
So very sorry about you mum Kirsty, :( and how sad about the cats too... :( as you say life can be quite unfair at times.

Thank you for your kind words.

I have just came off the phone to my brother and he had to go and get Tuky pts this morning :( he said he had got much worse over night and couldn't see him suffer, so thought it would be the kindest option to take. He said that has really put him off getting another cat with him having two now that have had to be pts with kidney related problems especially with them bein such young animals. Kidney related problems seem to be very common in cats. I have been lucky so far my oldest cat is eleven. not sure if it is so common in dogs? I must say it has made me question if I am doing the correct thing having my four cats on a dry complete food as some people say this can contribute to the kidneys overworking. Megan my dog is on James wellbeloved biscuits as well maybe that's not so good either, though she does get roast beef or some steak mince or cheese sprinkled over the top. Does anyone else have any thoughts on feeding there cats or dogs on mainly a complete dry food?

RIP Tuky.... :(

Kirsty you could always start another thread about the dried food. I personally dont like complete diets, buts thats my opinion. I have 3 cats and they get quite a selection from raw meat, tinned food, biscuits and lots of water.

Sorry to hear about Topsy :(

my mums cat age 18 died a year ago :(

Rainbow Bridge is just beautiful

Deirdre :))

So sorry to hear about you mum's cat Janis - RIP little Topsy. What a lovely way to go -snuggled up in her own bed in her familiar surroundings. Please extend my best wishes and sympathy to your mum.

Kirsty - sorry too, to hear about the loss of your family cats. Janis's idea of a new thread about feeding is a good one - I'd never feed all dry to any cat, personally.

So sorry to hear of your and your mums loss of Topsy :( At least she had a long happy life and died peacefully at home.

RIP Topsy :huggles:
