Visited the Cheddar Gorge last week and took some pics - only with my phone camera but I am quite pleased with them so thought I would share them with you.

Do not read on if you dont like rocks or caves! (w00t) :D

First up was an open top bus ride through the gorge:

A few more (Gough's cave)

I like this one as the reflection in the pool of water has come out quite well:

We had a lovely day - I hadn't been into the caves for years and the good thing about it is that dogs are welcome in all attractions too (although I couldn't manage my six (w00t) my sister did bring her 2 collies X's  )

God they are really good - especially for a phone camera... Brilliant.

i agree flamming hell what phone you got, brill pics

Thanks guys - just the Sony Ericsson Cybershot (3.2mp), I have a digital camera as well but the phone takes better pics! I would still like a camera like your new one tho Nicky

brilliant photos darcia  ,your braver than me thogh looks a little closterphobic for me :sweating:

Hi Darcia great pics...are some of the caves at Wookey Hole?

No, they are all in the gorge - quite good value too - £14 to do everything - bus tour, 2 caves plus the Crystal Quest, Jacob's Ladder up to top of gorge and entrance to the museum and anything you dont fit in on the day you have 10 years to come back and do another time  Oh and £1 off per person with your car parking ticket. :D

We thought about going to Wookey as it is not too far away either but not allowed dogs there :(

I remember going on a school trip to Cheddar Gorge and going into the caves .... I still remember the lesson on stalagtites and stalagmites (not sure I remember how to spell their names tho' - LOL)

Really good pics especially on a phone (w00t)

 Jane

It is always one of my favourite topics to teach  Can never persuade my school to do a trip there though :(

Shame ... 'cos those caves must have really made an impression on me as I still remember it and it's a good educational venue for kids :)

Ace photos Darc, i love Cheddar, did any-one see Kate Humble pot-holing last night. Freak-out, I would not do what she did!!!!!!!!! (w00t)

YES! (w00t) It was really good wasn't it - I persuaded Rob to watch, saw the first 10 mins and thought how are they going to use up an hour on this and before we knew it we were enthralled - HOW scary (w00t) (w00t) (w00t) She was very brave, I have only been caving once and I had a panic attack just like the chap described - dont know how they did that 100 metre crawl!
