Be at ease Karen, Max had a wonderful life with you both. Your visit to the pound was meant to be, you both have shared your lives with a special whippet. It's now Beau's turn to train your new puppy........ I can't wait to see your Barney baby as they look a lovely litter.

Beau is doing really well Lida. We kept him involved on Friday night. He came along in the car on Friday night, when we took Max to the vets. On the way in it was just a drive, although he was very aware of how sick Max was. We buried Max that night next to Tesa. While Brian was digging the grave Beau and I sat with Max. Beau was extrememly distressed, whimpering and howling. He watched Max being buried, and spent the rest of the night going back to check on the site. We kept him in with us that night (and last night). Other than the distress over Max's body he is business as usual. No fretting or looking for Max. he will now have 5 weeks to settle himself in as top dog before Phoebe arrives.

Once again thank you to everyone for their kind thoughts and well wishes. We have no regrets, only happy memories.

Karen so sad to read of Max's death, the sentiments expressed on this thread must be of comfort to you.

"And when life's sweet fable ends,

Soul and body part like friends;

No quarrels, murmurs, no delay;

A kiss, a sigh, and so away."

Griff and Peter

To Brian, Karen & Beau,

I'm so very sorry to hear your sad news. It is always the hardest of times.

Take comfort from happy memories of wonderful times and know that because of you a whippet named Max had a wonderful life.

My love to you all,

Louise.
