I get my stuff from the frozen section at Tescos and tripe from the local-ish pet store. Always make sure if buying fresh meat or bones that you freeze it or cook it before giving it to Rooney as these processes kill any "nasties" in the meat such as Neospora. Never give him cooked bones as these are much more likely to splinter and pierce his gut. This could happen with raw bones but is much less likely. I've been feeding mine raw bones for 3.5 years without a problem though. :)

I use fresh tesco value beef mince to feed mine, its quite fatty, I boil it up then add the mixer and cooked pureed value peas and whatever other frozen veg is on offer

:luck:

View attachment 40789please let me know which s'market you get the frozen mince from....asda dont do it....ended up buying him some £3 lamb chops.....i'll be on his left overs...lol

I get mine from tesco, they do a beef and pork mixed one and a lamb one (which is a bit more expensive but not as expensive and lamb chops! ) Our supermarket also has frozen livers that I stick in occasionally.

Nice legwarmers btw!

Ruby loves the fatty mince best  she thinks it's much tastier than the more expensive lean steak mince which I had to feed her one day... i thought she'd love it but she took one sniff and then gave me the classic whippet 'no thanks' look.

I buy the big value bags from Asda too - and usually feed on alternative days to the frozen tripe, tripe mix, chicken etc. (but feed mine raw)

mine love it.

Sparky has the Asda mince but he has it cooked. He also has cooked chicken on alternate days, again I get it from Asda. I always mix it with veg and alternate between adding rice, mixer or pasta. He is in fantastic condition and has just the right amount of covering. It helps having Dylan who loves his food with a passion, Sparky knows that if he does not eat his dinner he knows a dog who will, so it's heads down until he's finished. Looking forward to seeing Roo at Crufts, he's had some nice wins recently.

Thanks,......Roo has had a good run at the shows........which suprises me as he is the older type of whippet (not the ones with long backs-short legs)...we only bought him as a pet..never shown a dog before....found it hard to learn a dog to stack at 9-10 months.....He's loving the racing as well at the mo' but need to keep him clean now for crufts...and me too........lol
