Violets Had 40 Stiches

We let the dogs out last night at 10 and when violet came in she had ripped her side wide open.

I have grown up with whippets, my Dad who is 73 has grown up with them and neither of us have seen a wound like this. Some what more than a plaster.

She went straight to the vets who thought I must be going over the top with my assessment but when I got there was quite surprised herself.

The vet called in a nurse and by 11:30 Violet was all sewn up.

She has spent the night at the vets and I pick he up this morning.

The poor old girl is 7 next week and far too old for this kind of thing. You feel really sorry for them, but brave................how do they stay so calm?

aww poor girl, she must've been in shock, it's so awful to see them injured like that isn't it, one of the beauties of a whippet is also their weakpoint....lack of fat and beautiful silky (1 layer fur) on fine skin.

I KNOW A DOG WHO HAD 50 STITCHES AND IT DID NOT TAKE LONG FOR IT TO BETTER BUT WHAT A SCAR IT LEFT WHEN THE HAIR GREW BACK IN IT WAS WHITE BUT HE WAS FINE .
