I have just tried to pay our Visa online as I usually do, but it wouldn't let me (said account had been suspended).

I phoned Visa and apparently someone has tried to put a transaction through for £1.00 last Saturday. The very helpful girl I spoke to said they recognise this type of transaction as a sort of 'trial' and if successful, the scumbags try again with a larger amount. Luckily Visa rejected it, but it means our credit cards will be cancelled and new ones issued. It's such a pain as I will need to alter things like ebay, pay pal etc, but it could have been much worse, so good on Visa for sorting it out.
