where is the best place to get waterproof coats from any ideas please

we got the quilted ones from jo (citycroft) they work quite well, we were out yesterday terential down pour!

although the coats we could have rung them out lol, it hadnt soaked right through so the girls were still relativly dry.

(i say relativly as the were racing about so the water went up and under the coats, but oly bottomsides their back was bone dry)

aww :D

I highly recommend Sue & Terry Ward.

They were the first(i think) to make coats pacificly for Whippets.

They last for ages, I have one that is over 20 years old.

It being the credit crunch and all I just made one for Roscoe - will have to take pics. It cost me about three quid for a big piece of fleece and 8 quid for some good waterproof fabric (enough to make two big coats and a little one for Sidney) from Abakhans, a local discount/ end of line fabric place. It cost another two quid for binding tape velcro. And I'm not a dressmaker by any stretch but it turned out ok!

Our quilted coats aren't waterproof Katie so if they kept them dry in torrential rain I am really pleased!! I think they are just shower proof. :)

lol yes i know, im impressed with them to, although they do take a while to dry out once soaked, but thats expected i suppose :) will maybe have to invest in something propperly waterproof for winter (as we i have been told by many people to expect heavy snow, yes!!) but so far they are doing a fine job definatly worth the money

Heavy snow!?? I hope not - you can have it in Scotland and we will be ok down here :p

I just bought one made by 'Masta' (horse rug makers) at my local tack shop. I think they are made from the offcuts of the horse rugs. It is great quality, fleece inside and waterproof outside. It also has a reflective strip on the front strap, and its nice and deep. It was only £11, this link shows all the rugs they do....they even do one with a high neck and a belly flap...(wish I had known that!)..
