What a day i had yesterday............

The taxi collected me at 4.30 in the morning it was pouring down

and the wind was blowing a gale. On the Journey up to Dover the

weather was really bad but they insisted the ferry would be fine.

Fine.........we were chucked about all over the place, you couldn't

walk, people were laying everywhere being sick.....i did at least

manage to get to the toilets.....didn't know seasickness made you

fell so bad. We eventually had to be pulled in by tugs. I was ready

to die at this point

When i crawled of the ferry we were driven up to Belgium through

torrential rain split with snow blizzards. On the way back to France the

tyre went on the coach so we crept along with the coach running on

the metal wheel thingy, someone was waiting at the port to replace

the wheel.

When we arrived..........oh joy the ferry has stopped running.

So we spent the night in the port car park, nothing there just

us and everyone else and their vehicles.

I must admit this wasn't to bad we had gotten friendly with some

other people by this time and the vodka was flowing freely, so

this part was a good laugh really

Finally the wind dies down and they ferry's decide they can sail.

This crossing was still rough but fuelled with vodka and enjoying

the company i got through this one with no problems. We don't

really need to discuss what happened to the shelf in the shop :b

Through customs we go...........they take 6 off our coach and we

spend another two hours waiting for them to let them go......four

without any of their good whatso ever.

Im sooo glad to be home..........i came in changed my boots and

grabbed the girls. We had a lovely run down the beach was nice

to stretch my legs on solid ground and im now away for a good

long soak

God that sounds like my worst nightmare Anne...sorry ferries are not for me... (w00t) Im so glad you are now on solid ground again and everyone survived the trip...

My mam once went over to Amsterdam...and came back in a Force 10 gale...the trip sounded exactly like yours and my poor mum spent most of the time either at the toilet or lying on the bed in the cabin.. :(

Its put me off ferries for life..

 I found I was ok as long as I stayed on deck and didnt go below - not easy in a bad crossing but there I was (w00t) sat in a deckchair in pouring rain under the lifeboat  (just in case)

oh Ann, im sorry but you make me laugh........must be the way you tell em (w00t)

thats why i said to you the other day "i dont do boats" :- " ...........

sounds like you had a good time anyway, oh and i really do think we need to discuss what happened to the shelf in the shop

Hely i was in the shop and all the bottles rattled on the shelf

i thought they were all going to fall off.........i screamed and

then it rolled again and i was chucked the length of the shop

knocking half the stock on the floor and finally managed to

catch hold of a perfume stand........i wrapped my arms

around it and held on for dear life until my firend came and

got me.........i held onto her bag strap until i could get to a

set of stairs and just sat there holding the handrail until it

was time to go to the toilets again

going near the white cliffs again :(

How awful - it is the WORST feeling isn't it. Making me seasick just hearing about it !

I went on the train through the channel tunnel last year and that was scary enough really - couldn't believe it when it made my ears pop  - can't cars go through the tunnel as well?

I tried that once its horrible all that shuddering

I needed 2 Gin & tonics -then didn't mind it so much ;)

At least it will be an Easter that you will ALWAYS remember!

You would have been better doing the vodka first Ann (w00t) glad you are back on dry land and none the worse for wear :huggles:

IF i ever go again.......the vodka will be my first item packed for the

journey dont worry, right next to the tuna sarnies
