What I looked like yesterday Ive no idea, but it was my good deed for the day . o:)

I work next to a busy main road in the suburbs and I was outside the shop when a little Shih tzu went charging by in the middle of the road (w00t) I obviously gave chase , waving my arms about running down the middle behind it :b , luckily there is a pedestrian crossing nearby so the cars were going slow :sweating: .

When it got to the next junction it turned right, down the next main road with me still in hot pursuit , by now I was screaming to folk ` STOP THAT DOG !!!!

a couple of people tried but it side stepped and then it took its place in the middle of the road again  Cars were opening doors to try to catch him , but as he was small he just went underneath the doors

I was losing him in the distance and saw an old friend whose car I jumped into and said `follow that dog` , but he was so pathetic of pulling out into the traffic  I got out and continued to run after the dog :- "

Eventually , me and two guys managed to corner him and , one of the guys went to touch him and he flew at him , so I just grabbed the back of his neck and kept hold till he stopped trying to bite me

Of course I had no lead , but a lady passerby lent me her belt :D I slipped it through his collar and set off back the way we had come , He kept trying to get out of his collar so I decided to risk it and pick him up

On getting back to my workplace , my boss wasn't too happy about my ` absence ` supposed to be a dog lover . any how , My sister came as shes microchips and brought her scanner , but he wasn't micro chipped and his collar had no tag on  .

Jose took him home and rang all vets etc and the local radio . the dog warden aid they couldn't come till next day  so she kept him over night o:)

The owners next door neighbours heard about him on the radio and knew they were frantically looking for him . :huggles:

Apparently his owners who . live about 3 miles away never put him on a lead  but he saw a cat !

Now my sister is very down to earth , like myself  and told these folk a thing or two . :- " they are taking him back tomorrow to be micro chipped and are getting a lead and tag for his collar .

All s well that ends well and one customer who saw me running down the road after him ,like a demented woman , bought me a box of chocolates

I just hope some mad woman ( or man) would do the same for me should I be so unlucky to have a dog on the loose in traffic .

I tell you what though , all that running ( esp after bakewell show ) my shins are killing me , Ive never run so far so fast for years , must have been the adrenaline running

He is one lucky dog.

Well done you.

I nominate Jax for The K9 Good Deed for August Award. :huggles: Well done on acting so quickly and catching the little fella.

Jenny

sorry, but that really made me laugh...its the way you tell em (w00t)

well done though

well done!jax to the rescue! :D :huggles:

Well done Jax 8) You were his guardian angel o:)

I'd like to think that there were lots of good folk like you about who would help a dog in need, sadly I dont think it's the case. My Dad lost Holly and found her just standing and barking in the middle of the road - cars were slowing down (thankfully) and driving right past her, no-one helped her till my Dad caught up with her. :(

Hope your shins are better

Well done Jax, I think the owners owe you and your sister several large drinks. :D I have nominated you for the next London marathon, you have plenty of time to keep up the training! :- " (w00t)

well done jax u save that little dogs life :huggles:

well done jax, glad you managed to catch him :sweating: ,hes such a lucky lad.

well done, it's amazing how fast we can move when necessary isn't it >

Well done you, a true animal lover :huggles:

There's not many folks that would put themselves out :- "

When you have regained some stamina, have a large one!!!

Not that we expect any reward . but I dont think they even offered my sister anything towards the dozens of phone calls she made all day to various vets , rescue societys etc . :( I suppose they were just relieved to get him back . lets just hope they have learned their lesson, cos I might not be around next time o:) or fit enough ;) I hope I dont have to do too much walkinfg tomorrow

Well done Jax

We promise we will do our best to behave for you tomorrow :- " if you have enough sweets to bribe us that is

Good for you Jax.  It's a pity the owners weren't a bit more thankful. :( Hope you have recovered today. :)

Just been talking to my sister , who told the owners that shed had to buy food in for him as her dogs dont eat dog food :- " and they never even bothered to offer to pay for it  PLUS they havnt been back to have him microchipped .

Shes going to find out their name and phone number again for me , and I think I might just give them a phone call ;)

I tell you what , if I see him loose again , he wont be going back to them thats for sure :teehee:

Just read this - good on you for running after him Jax :huggles:

But people like his owners really shouldn't be allowed dogs
