wow thats great lots more whippet racers into the sport i hope

It was worth the trip just to see the spectators they were out in droves, i think most of Shirebrook Village attended, some were old whippet racers others were just interested parties who hadn't seen whippet racing before, it was a right nostalgia trip, some of the old racers couldn't quite get to grips with why we were putting in jump boards and fronts, others were telling tales of Ted Baker, Nev Butler and a couple gave dogs names that even I didn't recognise but then there were some that i did Judygo, Notts Forest was mentioned and a few more it was a real good night  I was a little worried at first when i saw the amount of spectators turn up but i couldn't applaud them enough, they lined the side of the track some with picnic blankets, young children ad pushchairs and watched intently and seemed to enjoy every moment of the racing.

:sweating: First one over the boss will be back next week

Forgot to say thanks to the trap lady (sadie) lure driver (Pat otherwise known as mummy dear) handicapper and judge yours truly (me) and have to say never had as many helpers no sooner had we arrived and the chaps from the club came out helped get traps out and were ever so helpful (w00t) then afterwards they helped take them away along with a couple of our regular club helpers and we were told if we needed anything just ask, I was told not to push the lure back up the field at the end of racing i only need to shout and someone would come and do it, it was a bit like unreal they were so shocked that us women were doing work like carrying a battery (w00t) Don't know if it will last but they were unbelievably helpful

Sorry for going on a bit but they were good folk and it was a damn good night even if not many dogs there it was pure entertainment and one of our whippet racers said he felt quite intimidated so many people had come to watch and see how it was done

thanx karen sadie and pat very nice evening`s racing look forward to racing there again alot of interesrt from locals asking question bout whippets it can only be good

A good turn out for the last evening meeting tonight, weigh in was until 6.00 and racing started as soon as the draw had been made. We managed to finish racing with enough light so went on and did a good few trials although have to say glad Brian feeds his dogs carrots, his last two trials the light was fading quickly (w00t)

Apologies to the lurcher racers i will add the race when i find out the names from Sadie sorry folks, a full four dog race this evening too!!
