The most encouraging thing about this venue is that 'whippets and racing' is wanted and the committee of the club are bending over backwards to help and accommodate us. All the time i have been in racing i have never known any other club committee get the equipment out and set up the track and wait till the end to help put it way again, this incudes fencing off the track each week too, the snack bar is open most weeks and we are made more than welcome in the club after racing. So fingers crossed as people keep saying Shirebrook Staff Whippet Racing Club should go from strengrth to strength.

Another good mornings racing. I would like to thank Paul Kissain and his wife who are keen spectators from Shirebrook Village, they don't own a whippet (but we are trying to persaude them to get one for their son) they come down every week just to watch and have a chat. They took it upon themselves and asked the local fruit shop for a donation for a raffle prize to help raise funds for the whippet club. They turned up with a lovely basket of fruit, they had already sold tickets to the locals and then ran the raffle for us on the field this morning, raising £47.00 for the club. Pam (Hunters Glory) was the lucky winner hope you enjoy Pam and Steve. Once again this shows the welcome and support we are getting from the locals at Shirebrook. Thank you

we went over to Shirebrook today and had a lovely morning with the pups getting lots of :huggles: from everyone and loving every min, you could'nt wish for better support from the club and spectators and like been said the track is getting lots of work and will be another great club for east mids good luck and well done to the committee and all the workers see you next week :thumbsup:

Once again a good mornings racing with a good atmosphere, plenty of specators and pups in training. It was nice to see Sheila's little girl have her first race (Tilly) who put up a really good show. The Acca x Just Friends litter all trialling nicely, Monkey x Tompass Lad pup looking nice, Weardale Spot x Fat Boy Slim pups progressing into traps this week, altho second run not sure who needs practice the lure man or trap man, well thats what Yvonne said (w00t) . To be fair guys i thought you did a good job (Sorry Yvonne I know I'm a creep but we gotta keep the workers on side lol) :thumbsup:
