Now what would REALLY suit the Badge man is a flat silver chain and black lead .....I used to have a flat gold chain and dark leather thin lead when I used to show my red brindle parti coloured show bred Greyhound :*

I think the silver chain with black lead sounds a really good idea.

From the choice of black, white or red, I think the white looks the best, but I'm sure he will look gorgeous in whatever colour you choose.

Who cares - he's going to win whatever  You could show him on Baler twine

Unlike Gill I don't have a black/white lead to offer you BUT if you send him down to me for awhile I promise to practise with all my leads....... :- " :teehee:

Seriously I agree that perhaps a fine chain might work but if its only the choice of three I go for black...........or purple

i voted black but i like the sound of the flat silver chain now :D

i'm also trying to find out where to get the black rolled leather with the black chain for you

:x You and your yellow

Hi Tracy,

If I had to choose from the leads you've shown, it would have to be the white one but if he was my dog I'd chuck all 3 of them out & start again. Those double chains going up from t he back of the head to the start of the lead are chunky & clumsy. I'd go & get a fine silver slip collar like the old fashioned choke chains. It's not the collar that chokes the dog but the handler. I've used them for 40 years without mishap. For my black dogs it is attached to a fine black, leather plaited lead. That will match whatever you are wearing, the silver will compliment both sides of the dog & be virtually invisible head on.

These leads are made by our very own "Krislin" & can be posted anywhere in the world. If you send her the collar she can plait it straight on. Looks fantastic.

Good luck with your showing no matter which you decide.

I must admit I show all my dogs on fine silver choke chains and colour co-ordinate their leads with my suits.

But, if you prefer the soft collar I would go for the white, as his off show side shouldn't matter that much. The judge sees very little of that side.

I always choose a lead that best blends into the dog. When showing white Borzois I would go for a white, but had to be careful that the lead is not whiter than the dog :) Actually, most new white leads would make the dog look slightly yellow, so I ran it through my hands until it got just that shade less white than the dog. Similarly for black Danes I preferred very dark charcoal lead, anything that made the black dog the blackest thing around.

When using white lead I would only put it on the dog just before going into ring and take it off when we finished, to make sure it stays just the right shade of grubby :)

For Badger i would also go for the silver chain, although the bit of black lead o his neck does not bother me.

:luck: :luck: :luck: Badger in the ring :)

Id say white - i agree with what someone said earlier the black collar cuts into his white on the show side. Defo the white.
