Hello to all -- I've been lurking on here for about a week and have been reading your posts and cooeing over your pictures. You really have some beautiful whippets.
Can someone help me please? I'd like to buy a whippet, and am willing to wait for the right pup.
This would be my first dog, as I've only ever kept cats, rabbits, budgies and finches. I am however now pet-less and craving a companion friend to share my life with.
Having studied the dog breeds for some months now, I have totally fallen in love with whippets, greyhounds and IG's, but think that owning a whippet would be the most practical for my lifestyle.
I'm not really interested in showing or racing, (although I'm sure I could be persuaded if I knew that my dog really enjoyed him/herself). All I'd like is a whippet with a gorgeous temperament, and a nice quiet disposition (my o/h isn't too keen on incessant barking!)
In the summer, I'm moving to the Salisbury area, and I'll be looking for a place that will be good for keeping a whippet nice and happy -- a nice fenced garden and areas for walking, etc.
Also, do you recommend a girl or boy dog as a companion for me? (I'm an outdoor-loving lady in her late 20's).
So, I'd be very grateful if you'd point me in the right direction with breeders, so that I can start to contact them.
Many thanks in advance.
