Ace and Rocky are coming up to 9 months, sometime in the future we need to get the a muzzle each, there seems to be 2 main types the wire plastic coated that comes in various sizes or the one size fits all plastic box muzzle.

Which one would you recommend???????

I like the plastic coated wire but they're being discontinued & without the plastic coating they're a bit flimsy.

The Don Pare one size fits all are made from a different plastic now and they're not as sturdy any more.

plastic coated wire ones here too

I was planning on the pastic coated one, but thought I'd do a poll as Im off work sick and bored stiff!!!! I have swine flu if anyone wants it?????

What will the greyhounds be using in future ?

Never thought it made the slightest difference personally. Having said that when I used to use the plastic coated wire ones, my dogs were forever getting hold of the lure thru' the muzzle. Now just use the box muzzle on sale at Pets at Home.

Have on a couple of occasions had the wire ones stuck on the boys teeth/mouth - god knows how exactly - so plastic ones for me.

Thanks for all the votes, opinions and advice. It looks like Ace will race as Brash Emotion, a name which will mean something to me. Its an anagram of my brother Tom's name, who unfortunately passed away last Jan. a month before the pups were born, so it will be nice to name one after him.

And I am going to go with the advice I have been given by most and get the plastic coated wire muzzles, thanks again,

Andy :)

Having had a dog have 14 stitches in it's leg and losing one of the guiders to her toe after having the leg split open by a dog coming in on the lure and breaking it's plastic muzzle I'd definately say that plastic coated wire muzzles are better

both are good,,,,,,,,,,,,,plastic one size fitt,s all,,,is great when u have a few dogs round the same size

but wire coated muzzels ,,,have there uses,,,i have a dog called connors ranger,,,and if iam honest ,,,,after the racing line,,he,s the most dangerous dog ull come across,,,he,ll eat threw a plastic one size all,in secounds,to get that lure,,he eat threw 3 so far,,,and 2 off them were in solo trails ,,,one was without,,,and there was blood,,,he,s not a fighter in racing,,,its just when lure stopped

,,,so i use wire coated with him or he will cause damage to other dog,s,,,,,so wire ones are best if u have a very highly strung dog at lure after finish line
