Oh I am so pleased with him, I can't tell you....... I know you shouldn't have favourites amongst your dogs, but Sweep is one very special boy, and to have one of his pups has been a real dream.  He is so much like his dad too.  Steve and I just sit and look at Smidge sometimes (mainly when he's asleep :- " ), and are so grateful for the chance to own such a little beauty

Thank you for the chat as well

The pleasure was all mine

No, I've been a good girl, and think I might save it for Christmas    But whenever I drink it I will think of you and your beautiful boys - thanks, it was very kind of you.

Ahhh, I think its lovely how pleased you are with him June. He is a lovely little chap. I think we nearly all feel like that about our puppies but of course it does make it extra special if you've bred them or your dog was the father

You're right Judy, I think if they are part of one of your dogs, you instantly feel something for them, and bond with them as soon as they are born. (And lets face it, they're the nearest to grandchildren we'll ever get!!) If you buy in a pup, you don't bond with it until you take it home with you - then they do work their way into your heart, but not nearly as fast as if they are born into your family so to speak.

:D I can't believe the emotion I feel when I look at Sabrina's babies  it really is a feeling that they are part of me :D Enjoy your little Smidge, he is adorable

Thanks TC - Sweep is almost back to normal. A few weeks rest should sort him out, although he's been charging around after Smidge, so any hopes of keeping him rested have gone out of the window really. I've watched that horrible video in slow motion, and it's amazing that he got off so lightly, although my 'so professional' sister in law carried on videoing the other dogs finishing their race, so we missed the last bit of the tumble. I heard her say to my brother "what's happened", and he said "just carry on, Sweep is still coming"!!!!

That must have been hard to watch :sweating: Glad to hear he's recovering well :huggles:

I expect your sister in law and brother wish the volume was turned down now (w00t) :b :- "

Did any of the dogs bump into him June?  :(
No Jacquie we don't think so. We originally thought he'd tangled feet with Back at Mill, but when we watched the video in slow motion, Sweep just seemed to slip and lose his front legs, slid along on his neck, then scrabbled to get up, and then flipped over and over. Horrible :( Back at Mill didn't seem to be affected at all, so I don't think they touched each other. Sweep did have two puncture marks at the back of his hock, and they could have been nail wounds, but even then we don't know if it was another dogs nails or his own!!

He's doing great now, so we'll just rest him for a few weeks.
