Whippet Pup On Gumtree

I dont mind in the least, the more people who are trying to help these whippet pups looking for forever homes the better in my opinion. Unfortunately most of the people on my list wanting to adopt a rescue are not able to take on a puppy. I just find it awful that there are breeders out there who will not take them back. It is not always possible however carefully one checks to find the perfect home first time, but when people have decided that they had made a mistake with a whippet I cant wait to get them back and find the right home. It has only happened to me twice but how awful it was. One said she couldn't cope"it was like having a baby again and her children were having to take a back seat" Poor children!. The other one got a bitch puppy spayed at 6 months (without telling me) then brought the poor girl back aged 2 because "she couldn't house train her" I was really angry over that one!

However I am sure it is worth contacting Linda Jones in the rescue down south, I think she often has people waiting to adopt.Tel 01234 838170

Yes, they haven't had the time to take it off yet - the news is hot off the press

Good , hope it's a home for life this time :)

Good, hope it is somebody who can cope.

I do not think it is fair to criticize the owner without knowing the whole story. I know that breeders often tell people that Whippets are calm and sweet, so buyer inexperienced with dogs does not know what they are getting into. And pups' behaviour varies wildly. Most of my Whippets were quite civilised, even as pups. In this moment my 2 youngest ones are Claudia 2.y.o. and Hephzibah 11 months. Claudia was always an angel, i cannot recall her being naughty or too active. Hephzibah is just like a torpedo, she cannot move slowly, she charges around the house leaving disaster in her wake. She for ever chases the cat, breaks into the , ever more secure, pen I have in corner of the kitchen where I feed the cat, nothing left on the bench is safe and i am full of bruises from her overenthusiastic greeting. I love her to bits but cannot wait for her to become proper calm Whippet like her mum is. :)

I can completely understand how somebody with small kids might decide that they cannot cope. They would have paid more than the 200 pounds, so what is the problem asking for some money, they are not making a profit. Actually i would worry about the dog's welfare more if they would offer him for free - that is the best way to attract some sort of low life.

BLESS YOU SUE :) and KATIE :)

I do hope Ellie loves her new friend.

I was wondering if anyone going to the Lure Coursing at Holyrood on this Sunday would have been able to help with transport. Shona Walsh would know.

There are folks travelling up from the South and I am sure that Katie had intended going on Sunday. She may have her hands full now though with a new baby in the house :)
