Left behind at Appleby fair! Need homes fairly urgently; some have gone/are going to different rescue groups such as Greyhound Gap (which sent out request for help with transport), some are in pound. For those who want smaller (whippet-like) dogs under 23 inches, note Amber (21 in), Mac and Feather. Drummer, albeit larger, appeals to me (but I live nowhere near and have about enough dogs for one person).

Love the look of Feather and he looks very non ped

What a shame They are all lovely

Good luck finding new homes :luck:

Disgraceful does this happen every year after Appleby?

oohhhh how lovely is Amber

hope they find homes soon :luck: :luck: :luck:

Some beautiful dogs there, i hope they soon find someone

to love them :luck:

Such a shame.... :(

hope they find homes soon, while their previous owners get their up and comings..

Love Hector...he is so like the saluki cross on my avatar.

They always put no cats on these sites but, as I have said before -_- (Yawn) the sight hounds I have had have been the best with cats. Rosie my greyhound came off the track and was good with my cat. Of course, it takes care initially but lessens the number of possible homes IMO.

They are lovely looking dogs, hope they find good homes soon. Prob some gypos who couldn't sell them just left them behind.

But the rescue has to err on the side of caution and if they have no history or even a slight suspicion that the dog might not be cat safe - and lets face it, they're going to have been worked so the odds are that they won't be immediately cat safe - then it's better all round to say so. Otherwise a novice owner might think they are 100% cat safe immediately and end up finding out they aren't in a horrible way.

You are presumably an experienced and sensible owner who takes care to ensure all is well with the dogs and cats, a lot though aren't.

Yes, I do understand their caution, it just seems a shame.

If you read the whole post it does say that the rescue who originally had the dogs are unable to cat test however both Greyhound Gap and Lurcher Link DO cat test their dogs correctly ;)
