our whippet sadly passed away and we are looking out for another one to rehome and spoil rotten just like the last. she will not be left alone for long periods due to are work patterns somebody is almost always at home. we have a nice big garden and she will be walked often, there are no children in the household. we do have a cat though, but he is old and used to having dogs around.

we are in the southwest area but willing to travel, looking at 6weeks - 2years old roughly

thanks

replied

just to add: we would rather rehome/rescue a whippet than buy from a breeder

it was very sudden, she was fine one minute then incredibly poorly for 2 days then died she was only 9 so middle aged and such a character, she will be missed

i'll try to get some pictures up of her later

We lost our (ex racing.. we adopted him) greyhound a year ago this month.

He was fine but grew a lump on his back.... the vet didn't think much of it but we pushed to have a biopsy done which showed he had cancer of the spleen a few weeks later he died :(

We said then we'd not have another dog as Jacques passing was so sad he died in hubby's arms... but the house felt so empty that 3 months later we got our whip (now 9 months old) Sidney who we're sure has read the how to be a cheeky dog book written by Jacques lol

some pictures of poppy

these pictures were taken less than 2 days before she died :( they are the only digital photos we have. she was being her usual lazy self and sunbathing (the last picture-RIP):

Poppy was very beautiful  I hope that you find another whippet soon :luck:

Poppy looks so well there in the sun, sorry you lost her so early. Best of luck with finding another Whippy to share your home, Im sure something will turn up soon.

:( Sorry to hear about Poppy. She looks like a lovely girl. It's very hard to lose them isn't it. Two of mine were nine years old yesterday and it is not really very old for a whippet.

Wishing you the very best in your search for a whippy-friend :luck:

we picked up our lovely new whippet yesterday. some of you might know her, she is called tilly and used to belong to wendy aka "milley"

shes a bit shy at the moment but we expected that.
