Hi - new member here. Am letting all the sighthound rescue groups I can find know about an ad i've just been sent by Freeads for a 9 month old blue whippet bitch for sale for £300 or to swap for a laptop. Is it possible for the seller to do this? I'm useless at links (sorry - technophobe!), but if you put adtrader and 9month whippet, it should take you straight to the advert. If anyone can suggest any action I can take next, I'd be v grateful. Short of buying her! Husband says another one to our three is too many!!

DISGUSTING

poor baby hope she finds her forever home

Someone needs to go swap her for a laptop full of viruses

Some people beggar belief

I have been giving the free-ads a wide berth as we have a 'full house' and it is so depressing not being able to help :(

hONESTLY  Ive seen everything now....

this is dreadful....could anyone possibly help out....

I REPORTED THE ADVERT

BUT IT'S STILL BEING ADVERTISED

How can people do this to such beautiful dogs? Not so long ago a white male whippet was being sold in Barnsley because the son was bored with him and now this girl in Bradford is apparently less valuable to the owner than a laptop.

 I like June's idea of a laptop full of viruses..... oh that I was 'techie' enough (and had a spare laptop.....sadly the one I've got came out of the ark!!) It is sickening!!

Very wrong.

Next up - swap Laptop for robo raptor toy.

These sort of people make me sick with their 5 minute wonders.

I've got to add to this and say, that although there are many rescues that probably would love to help, the majority are operating on limited resources and if they went out and bought every 'needy' dog that is advertised on these Freeads sites then their resources would rapidly diminish. £300 is going to put a lot of people off. Often, the dogs most at risk are those advertised for free or for a pathetic amount, sometimes with the 'selling point' being that they are un-neutered. The 'wide boys' out there would soon cotton on if they thought they could advertise a dog for sale and a rescue organisation would come along and pay out every time.

I have a spare computer if anyone knows how to stick a virus on it ;)

It is so sad :( Toddy and Bella have both come to me from very poor starts in life.

Unfortunately, I have my limitations, another rescue is out of the question.

Lets hope that the outcome for this whippie is a whole lot better than her present situation :luck:

I wish I had the expertise, though I suspect the moron advertising the poor dog is more 'laptop savvy' than he/she is 'dog savvy'
