We went to Studland Beach in Dorset yesterday for Lola's first taste (and I mean that literally!) of sand and sea :) It was a shame to miss the drag-racing, but we had a wonderful time, and met two deerhounds and dozens of greyhounds, lurchers, and even a pharoah hound! Dorset seems to be longdog-central

The naturists were out, despite it being a bit chilly to say the least 8) lots of strolling aimlessly so that we could admire them, and a fair bit of standing in the waves at exactly the right depth for floating the parts...

Each to their own. But the visual evidence showed that the day was a cold one :b

Great photos - yep Dorset definitely has its fair share of longdogs! :D

Thats amazing how camouflaged Lola is in that picture :D I bet the girls loved it, I love taking pups to the beach for their first outing, Archie just went wild

Lovely photos -  we still have ventured to the beach yet.

Lola looks like shes really loving the outdoor life with Josie.

Looks like you all had a great day - lovely pics   :p

Lovely Pictures. I daren't let Sid see them though. This week-end we were looking forward to taking him on the beach [allowed on Bournemouth beaches from 01 Oct}, but unfortunately he fell down some banking last week and landed on a broken bottle, resulting in 10 stitches in his chest. :x It was really traumatic as he was pouring with blood - we were in a middle of a field and the car was parked quite a way away, then he went into shock. Anyway the vet sorted him out but he hates being on the lead and not running free - so at the moment the beach is a big "no no". :(

oooh, that sounds nasty :( poor Sid, hope he's on the mend now :luck:

Lola's coat is the perfect camouflage for the beach setting.

Is this where you spotted the deerhounds too?

Love the comment about floating bits. (w00t) :p

Lola is a negative image of Jonah  ...she is fawn with blue brindle markings in a marbly effect, Jonah is blue with fawn marbly, brindle markings. They look very unusual and striking don't they?

Lovely pics of Josie and Lola  Looks like they had a great time at the beach

Lola really blends in with the sand :p

Yes it was really bad - another inch either way would have been fatal - he is so accident prone. To look at him now you wouldn't think anything was wrong but it is so very hard keeping him quiet. When out we can keep him on the lead but how do I stop him having his "mad" 5 minutes racing round the garden - that's life with a whippet!!!

Lovely photos of Josie and Lola on the beach. :huggles: :huggles: Looks as though you all had a brilliant day.
