Hebe is named after the shrub as hubby is a gardener so went through the plant book till we found a name we liked. It's also the Greek goddess of spring, very classical. Aka, Hebebobs, Heebles, Beebs, Agility name- Riverbank Water Witch.

Rafferty was going to be called Moss but it didn't suit him at all, he became Rafferty after Gerry R the singer. Aka, Raffy, Raffles, Riff-Raff, Womble, Rafy poo.

Scrumpy was named in Cornwall after a few pints of the same  as she's the colour of cider. Aka, Scrumplepits, Scrumpy Dumpy, Pumpy Scrumpy :x Agility- Serendipity Sky Dancer

Various cats

Squirrel(grey), Squizzy wizzy & Flea(B&W) cos squirrels come with fleas (w00t)

The late Batley,Bitty bat, was named after the cash & carry & also cos he was tiny & black .

although its slightly off thread..it makes me laugh how people choose grand names for their pets but actually use bizarre affectionate longer versions...for instance i had a lurcher called "annie"....and we used to call her "annie pannie pooper scooper "

and even since yesterday "monty" has become "monty don"

just to update ..monty is now aka "lord montague midget the third".. :b (w00t)

Digit was Digit when he arrived - so seemed unfair to change it............his big posh name is Collooneys Siver Digiloo, so i think Digit was just a little name that sounded similar..........his nickname is Squidge!

and he has a theme tune too............it goes like this

"Big freaky whippet, a-Dijy Whippet!" to the tune of the Bacardi advert where all the yoot in a bar keep changing places with each other........will make no sense at all if you've not seen the ad! :teehee:

Audrey was named after La Hepburn due to her stunning eyes - she has black rims which make her look like she's wearing eye liner

Her nickname is Pie coz she's a sweetie pie

Well, Guszti comes from a hungarian name, Gusztáv, Auguszt.

When Guszti was very-very small and lived in his breeder, his colour was like chestnut (gesztenye in hungarian). Here in Hungary there is a famous figure, Gesztenye Guszti. This is a man-shaped figure made of chestnut.

And that's why our Guszti got the name, Guszti. (w00t)

Well, Guszti’s breeder wanted to make an “A” litter, so she found a name, August, which’s nickname is Guszti, too.

Cókmók is a nice hungarian word, means: luggage, baggage. But not the official name, it is a "nickname" of baggage. We like the way it sounds, so we didn’t give another nickname to our magyar agár.

Kapor means dill. Well, we are both vegetarians, and I like hungarian vegetable-names.
