:thumbsup:Wonderful pics as usual

Looks like a lot of fun :D

Wonderful pictures Mandy, I was just saying to the OH today while attempting mine - how good yours always were on K9. Bright and clear - even when capturing the action. do you do any adjusting afterwards or are they always that good straight off.

My camera is a Fuji and I am pleased with it - got a new lense for Christmas - havnt used it yet though. But the Cannon takes the biscuit (I will get one one day)

Love the first shot of Annie taking off,...... Great

Hi Janis,

Nearly always have to adjust them first, especially winter photos and especially if i'm using the longer lens (75/300mm) in fairly low light conditions.

Most of the photos I took today looked dark when i got them up on the pc, so i had to alter the levels in photoshop which does do a cracking job of lightening them up.

I took lots of pics today but lots of the fast shots were out of focus, but wasn't surprised as it was asking a hell of alot from the camera to capture a fast moving image in poor light and at 300 mm as well so was pleased I managed to get half a dozen decent ones.

Thanks for the info (Im teaching myself really  ) I did try adjusting some - because as you said the light levels were low today and they did look rather dull when I got them onto the pc - it seems to take ages resizing them then uploading them all - then again onto K9 as well as re-adjusting them all. (w00t)

Suppose patience is the virtue too :- "

I havnt got photoshop but tried Microsoft Editor to alter the lighting. Must get photoshop elements soon as my daughter wants it too.

Gorgeous photos.I am always amazed at how much whippets love snow! They are such woosies in the cold but adore the white stuff :))

Thought i ought to mention too Janis that i got a lcd monitor for christmas (huge surprise as i usually know what i'm getting as i usually go get it and tell OH what he's bought me but he surprised me this time) . To be honest when I connected the lcd up I was a bit dissapointed with it but didn't show it , wouldn't want to hurt his feelings or seem ungrateful but the image on my old crt was great and although the lcd takes up a lot less space on my desk and looks good, the picture quality i felt was lacking. it seemed very bright and text looked small and blocky.

Ok, so the factory settings aren't to my liking, after trying to alter the brightness and contrast I still felt unhappy as i couldn't really see improvement, esp the contrast, it just seemed a duller flatter picture after I had decreased the settings.

So I was wondering how my pics look on other computers?

After lots of altering and changing back and redoing I finally decided to stop mucking around with it and leave the settings alone cos i just don't think I can change anything.

I still miss the lovely smoothness and crisp images and text of my CRT, but OH thinks I just need to get accustomed to the new monitor, he may be right of course, so I'm going to give it a bit more time to see if I can get use to this new screen. Meanwhile lovely old friend CRT is just a few feet away and just seconds away from bursting into life again.

I'd be interested to hear what others think of tft panels too.

Wonderful pic's,especially the first one

Mandy - we just got a new LCD flatscreen Computer a couple of months ago - but havnt connected up onto internet yet. (w00t)

As you say I was slightly dissapointed with the quality - the photos definitely look different to the old screen. As you say wobbly and slightly distorted - what size is yours - ours is a 19inch. But as you say takes up less space

Your pictures look great, but this is still on my older PC at the moment.

Mines a 19" too.

I think what is also niggling me is that the connection for my lcd is a VGA socket and this is correct for my computer. If it had a DVI interface I know the quality would be so much better, but havn't got DVI connection on the PC. :( When the signal goes through VGA it has to change it from digital to analogue and then back to digital again and I read that this is where the image quality falls down.

There's nothing I can do so I will just have to like it or lump it I suppose.

Something to keep in mind to anyone buying a pc ,do make sure it's got DVI socket on the back.

Flippin technology, I can't keep up with it!

We got a completly new 1GB PC with flatscreen, wireless Microsoft keyboard and mouse. Weve been trying to connect the two PC's together via a Wireless system - without much luck yet. (w00t) (w00t) Networking its called :- "

We are on AOL of course which makes it doubly hard - they wont help over the phone  all foreigners too :- "

I wont let it beat me - we are off to get a longer cable - and I will get the bloody thing working if it kills me.
