Guess who we met up with today? Yep, Muffin, Jonah and Gillian came along too….usual venue!

We did the usual things…….Stan chased Muffin...

Muffin chased Jonah….

Fred stood around looking confused…which foot goes first?

002-4.jpg

Jonah went off hunting in the long grass…

015-1.jpg

And found a hole in the wall.....

019-1.jpg

Stan got bored of chasing, so he had a run round by himself…

016-2.jpg

Muffin wanted to go off and explore….

032.jpg

..and found a hole as well….

029.jpg

..he also found a house..

Then Muffin went one way….

035.jpg

And Jonah went the other…

036.jpg

And Fred stood around looking confused again…

037-1.jpg

Finally we ran into a wall….this is where the fun began...

008-3.jpg

Come on Muffin…it’s easy said Jonah…look, easy-peasy…

009-4.jpg

Muffin wasn’t convinced…

007-2.jpg

Gillian tried to show Muffin the way over…

010-3.jpg

Muffin finally decided he didn’t want to be left behind…..

011.jpg

And into the woods we went…

023.jpg

Muffin hopes we don’t have to climb this wall as well…

027.jpg

026.jpg

What’s that in the clearing?

012-4.jpg

Finally we stumble on the tower…

013-2.jpg

We only met a few folk on the way round. We were almost at the end of the walk when we met up with a small gaggle of dogs…

042.jpg

.this little terrier pup took a shine to Stanley…

041.jpg

But wasn’t so sure about Jonah…I think it preferred dogs nearer its own size!

Thanks for a lovely walk again Gillian. We really enjoyed it even if I did get a scare half way round (we won’t mention losing Fred in the woods!)

lovely pictures but i feel sorry for Fred, he sounds so like my oldie Badger..wondering which foot goes in front of the other...love him x

Exellent Nicola and that commentary really made me laugh!

Love the one of Jonah standing on the stile. No wonder Muffin finds it hard to get over when he goes about it in such an ungainly way - you did catch him in a very funny pose!

That was a really nice walk this morning and the dogs all seemed to enjoy it as well, including the one with springs in his feet! :clown:

Another lovely walk Nicola...Im so pleased Fred is still able to accompany you...even at his own pace...its wonderful to see...

Another brilliant set of pictures

Love the ones of the boys staring into hole's and long grass

Lovely photos as usual Nicola.

Are the holes in the walls to allow small animals to get to the other side or did they not go all the waythrough the wall?

Love the ones of a confused Fred. Our Bandit is only 8 but is already starting to look at you with the same confused look he looks at you as if he can't remember what he was doing.

Wonderful Nicola, thank you so much for sharing, I so enjoyed that!

I've never thought what those little holes are for - I suppose they could be for little creatures.

I was more concerned that escapologist Jonah could get through - he was looking to try all the time! I'm sure he couldn't but I know what he's like :sweating: I think Nicola might have gone some way to understanding my neurosis when she suddenly caught Jonah landing on top of quite a high wall with one bounce! :clown: I would have taken a photo of him standing there if I hadn't been a bit concerned as to what sort of drop there was on the other side! Think Nicola was too shocked to take one (w00t)

Great photos as always, Nicola.  I really love the one of the trees and the clearing.

Great photos. We haven't spent any time at all in Derbyshire so maybe we should rent a cottage and check out the walks in the Peak District because it looks glorious. :))

Thaks for your lovely comments everyone. Always appreciated!

I think they must be. There are bigger ones for dogs next to stiles, but these are very small so must act as wildlife corridors for small animals that can't get over the high walls which go round the estate for quite some way. They keep the deer out of the woods in some areas.

I must admit I was quite taken aback that Jonah jumped to the top of an almost 6 foot wall in one leap without even touching the sides. He did it effortlessly! I wish I'd been quicker with the camera but I was just too surprised!

I love these photos and stories about your walks! Very funny and interesting, and some lovely views. It does look a lovely part of the country. And bless old Fred ...

Excellent photos again  what lovely walks you and Gillian go on, beautiful scenery. It's nice for the boys to meet up too, they all look like they had a great time. Love the picture of Stan chasing Muffin, he has a look of determination that he wont give up to matter how fast Muffin is! :huggles:
