i must have been a soft touch cause i charged mine £25 a week, and they use to put so much away into their savings account for their future too. They are now in their own houses and the savings went towards their mortgage down payment

Firstly well done on getting your lad to work-mine is 18 too and an idle lazy swine!

doesn't pay a penny......thinks everyone is going to come to him with job offers-the world owes him a living as the saying goes....

Just spent 2 years at college and now has decided not to pursue what he has studied.

In bed till lunchtime-out at the weekends and now wants to go on holiday abroad!

I work full time and spend half of the weekend doing his bloody ironing-

Mug or what?

Going to be some changes round here.....

£900 isn't bad for a young lad is it?

£30.00 board sounds fair to me and then he could put £10.00 maybe away himself?

May i have your suggestions please on what to do with my son?

I'll show him your comments

Joe has worked since he could legally do so, has a good work ethic...but has also just finished two years at college and decided not to pursue the course that he's taken...he's taking some time out in the hope that what to do with his life will come to him soon...

He works from 7 am till 10 pm 6 days a week, with a few hours off in the middle of the day...so he works hard for what he gets...

Good lad

I thought 2 years or so at college would give him so 'growing time'

It has! he's grown into a lazier swine than he ever was. :(

WITH ATTITUDE!

...just to add...I'm a skint single parent...so if he wanted something he had to work for it...he saved £1000 for a laptop when he was 14 from paper rounds alone

you have done a excellent job with joe clair, you must be so proud of him :huggles: :huggles:

My son used to save the money his whippets won when he was younger-walked them... so had the money-he bought a great bike and it also funded a school ski trip away in Italy-

He now works on Saturday hairdressing and a few nights a week in a local shop-but thinks he's hard done by!

He doesn't think he should contribute to the household because his sister has lived at home 'free' for 4 years whilst at university.

P.S-I'm going to be a single parent soon -cos my husband has had enough of him.

I'm sure he'll get back in to it eventually...Joe decided to go through his lazy time when he was at college and cruised his way through two years having a laugh...he did come out of it with a National Diploma at more than just a pass...who know how though
