Hi, we've just bought some different wormers - Panacur- for Alfie (he was on Drontal) but the tablets look huge! The pack says one half tab for every 5kg of body weight which would mean he would need a tab and a half (w00t) Does anyone else use Panacur - Is this right or would just one tablet be enough? Cheers

When my two had those ones they just thought they were tasty treats :)

Yes, that's right, Sarah :D

Never underdose with wormers as they won't work and the worms will become resistant to them. It is always better to give more than necessary than too little. Wormers are all very safe as well, so no worries about overdose

The size of the tablets depends on the constituents used to manufacture them and not the active substance. It doesn't hurt to change wormers either - gives the worms something different to cope with

Ive used Panacure too Sarah, and that is the correct dose...depending on weight of your dog of course...

The Drontal tablets are huge you are right...and the Panacure ones go down no bother at all...

Agree with Jane here too, a change is good now and then.

oops meant to say its a really safe wormer, so you could never overdose really.

Ok thanks that really helps, Alfie weighs about 18kg so a tab and a half it is then!
