thankyou everyone. well they ended up keeping nikki in overnight nikki and pups r all fine but @ the mo she wont feed them so im doing all 9 by hand. all r feeding well and peeing and 2 of them even pooed on me lol. colours i think black bitch, dark fawn maybe a red fawn bitch and its either goin to b blue or blue fawn bitch. dogs i know theres a big black one a couple of blue and i think but im not 100% sure a brindle. as im feeding them every 2 hours @ the mo i prob wont b on here much as its taking about 45 mins to do the full 9 then an hour and a bit later i do it all again lol il keep trying nikki though. dont know weights yet but they r various sizes. pics and weights maybe tonight or tommoro

May just be she is still feeling the effects of anesthetic, Biddy was like this with her 2nd litter, she had c section and didnt want anything to do with the pups at first but when anesthetic wore off she was fine.

Keep trying and hopefully she will take to them, best of luck, hope all goes well from now on.

well theyve all survived the night and so have i....just lol anyway when ive been feeding them every 2 hours they not that fussed it take 45 mins to do them all u just get them settled and then u do them again lol so i missed out the 4am feed and @ 6am they all fed great so im goin to do them every 3 hours instead of 2 hours as they dont want it within 2 hours. ok their weights roughly as they wudnt keep still yesterday are as follows:

fawn dog 12 oz

blue dog (white stripe) 1lb 1oz

blue fawn bitch 13 oz

big boy black dog a whopping 1lb 6oz (if peter read the scales right lol)

fawn dog (white chest) 1lb

blue dog (white belly) 14oz

red fawn bitch 13 oz

black bitch 14 oz

fawn dog 15 oz

so as u can see they all good weights. havent decided which bitch we r keeping yet (wait and c if they all r ok in a week maybe i think they shud b they way they eat lol) personally i like the big black boy but we keeping a bitch. mind one of the blue boys has took my eye too lol off to feed them again in 5 mins then get some more milk @ the vets do a bit shopping. have my dinner feed them again then..... SLEEP lol

What good weights (w00t) a nice range too

Keep up the good work ,I'm sure it will pay off :luck:

nikki still doesnt want to feed them or clean them although she did lick one when lisa was here today. alison came and did the dew claws today (huge thankyou 2 her) and said they all look big and healthy.

havnt been on here all week Carol, wow nine puppies, good luck, hope Nikki starts feedng them soon

John

Reasuring to see they're good weights

Nikki might settle better with them if you avoid visitors just for the time being. She's probably perplexed at waking up to 9 pups and there'll be little scent of her on them with the vets/ hand rearing/ dew clawing etc. But totally appreciate, needs must.

Have you got a foster lined up just incase or do you think she'll come round to them?

Best of luck :luck:

well done 9 pups ;) our dot wouldnt have anything to do with her pups for first day or so some wont after c section bit overwhelming just kept putting them on and eventualy it happened good luck and well done :luck: :luck:

dont think we will get her to feed them it looks like il b hand rearing them for a few weeks. i only work 2 hours per day so its not a hardship. im getting into a routine with them now. and tonight peters helped and will do when hes here over the weekend. mams coming to help mon and tues then peters off work wed and thurs so its just fri il do it alone then its the weekend again. then peters shift falls right when im @ work he will b home etc etc. sure we will work something out. yes my eyes will b hanging to my knees and il prob lose 3 stone as i dont have time to eat but il have lovey big healthy puppies lol

My heart goes out to you all. Don't loose hope though Carol :luck:

I remember Amber's pups low birth weights and we had to handrear them even with Amber being a good mum. I booked a fortnight off and Tony mucked in around working and looking after the rest of the gang, even so, I was a walking zombie and near made myself ill through lack of sleep.

I still look at Pixel now and think it's amazing how small she was (5oz) she's no little Pixel now though!! (w00t)

It's worth it, hang in there Carol and Peter and you'll be rewarded.

Carol take one pup to niki where ever she has decided to go relax..her own bed maybe ...and keep putting pup on the tit ...also allow her to smell it by holding it up to her face

Dont put her with all the pups , just use one hopefully she may bond with it .. may take a few attempts be keep with it ..in fact it took full stop 3 days , but she did come around

Good luck

Sorry forgot to stay ...less peeps about for a few days ..keep th house very quiet

Carole you are doing a fantastic job  and the pups are lucky to have you :luck:

I can just picture them all in afew weeks ,following you around like a mother hen

she growls and gets that nasty look in her eye if u put one in the whelping box as shes still in there @ the mo, wudnt even attempt to put one on the teet. lisa and alison know wot i mean. she wants them near her in a cage and she sniffs @ them and watches over when u r feeding them but she wont feed them. even the veterinary nurse said she didnt think she wud feed them. have to say they all feeding well and having @ least 5 ml every 3 hours thats @ the very least mostly its between 10ml and 20ml except big black boy he had 40ml one feed! they also pooping well on their own. i toilet them when ive fed them and they nearly always wee and quite a lot of them poo too and they r big poos lol. feeding them every 3 hours now as they didnt want it every 2 hours. so my times im trying to stick too are 6am, 9am, 12 noon, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm. 12 midnight or around about them times. get a couple of hours sleep in between. it takes 45 mins each round lol i have a chart now with who has how much to eat when so if one only has 5 ml one feed i wud expect them to have more the next feed etc. anyway @ the mo all r fit and well im shattered but pups thriving lol
