In this game, you post a location that alphabetically follows the one previously posted. It can be any sort of geographical location. A river, a street, a mountain, a restaurant, a forest, a bridge, a planet... anything at all. The location can be real or fictional. To start:

The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, standing at the western end of the Champs-Élysées at the center of Place Charles de Gaulle, formerly named Place de l'Étoile— the étoile or "star" of the juncture formed by its twelve radiating avenues

Boscawen- un. My favourite stone circle in Cornwall. It's well hidden and takes a bit of finding but well worth the effort. Built in the bronze age it has 19 upright stones and a tall leaning on that's just off centre. It's buried on the more amongst gorse and bracken and is a great place to walk dogs!

that's really interesting - thanks @Caro Perry - do you know why they built a stone circle in the first place?

No one really knows - maybe for religious purposes, maybe just meeting places. I'd love to know though! I've always been fascinated by them.

The Colosseum Rome - Roman gladiators were usually slaves, prisoners of war or condemned criminals. Most were men, but there were a few female gladiators. These combats were attended by the poor, the rich, and frequently the emperor himself. As gladiators fought, vicious cries and curses were heard from the audience around the Roman Colosseum. One contest after another was staged in the course of a single day. Should the ground become too soaked with blood, it was covered over with a fresh layer of sand and the performance went on. The gladiatorial games continued until Christianity progressively put an end to those parts of them which included the death of humans.

It defiantly didn't look this quiet when we went!! It was hard to imagine the amount of history held there because it was so busy with tourists. However, still very impressive.

Dartford Crossing.
Built to cause traffic chaos and rob us people in the South East if we dare think about leaving for the day!

Not yet! Been to Verona and much of the south of Italy though. It's one of my favourite countries to visit and I have been to Rome many times

Ah @Caro Perry we are off to Verona also this year! Is it worth it?? We have a wedding in Sorrento first and @Oliver doesn't fly so we will travel back by train and stop at Florence, Verona, Lyon.

We travelled for 5 weeks round Italy last year and loved it. We found the Italians to be super friendly :) Whats your favourite part?

Verona is lovely - the famous balcony is a little underwhelming though but not as bad as Copenhagen's Little Mermaid! I spent my honeymoon in Sorrento :)

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km) straight connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the American city of San Francisco, California – the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula – to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. (wikepedia)

Italy - As a whole I think Italy is such a beautiful country! We went to quite a few places in Italy last year and all were so different but equally amazing!

Does anyone else feel the same about Italy?
