Hi all, I'm Cat, the locally recognized animal looney! My baby boy is an American Bulldog called Ash, he's 7 and he and his feathered brother Pi are the lights of my life!

.

hi, Cat, welcome!
We need pictures, lots of pictures. :D // I do in-home care, & often do live-in shifts with on-call overnights, so I currently have no pets of my own... just plants. :( I get my pet fixes by working with clients' pets, who have unwanted behaviors.

What sort of bird is Pi? - I've had parrots of several species, cockatiels, parakeets / budgies, & hand-reared many wild nestlings / fledglings for release.

Hi Terry! My phone is just full of pictures of my babies! But I'm new to this forum thing so I don't really know how or where to go 'Here's my dog, look at his cuteness!'. Ash is my profile pic tho .

Pi (or π technically) is a bog standard town pigeon who I rescued when he was about two weeks old. He fell out of the nest at about one week next door to my work and (as I later found out) broke his leg and wing. I left him be but had to bring him home later that week because some boys where trying to kick him to death He can't fly, but he falls with grace!! And Ash is terrified of him

Prior to that I had an African Grey called Tyson, another long story, and have rescued, adopted and released most things with fir or feathers along the way!

I'm sorry to hear you don't have monsters of your own at the moment! It must be rewarding to work with animals with unwanted behaviour if you can make them a little happier though!

Cat x

Hi Mad Murphy! Nice to meet you! He's a photigenic little love, isn't he! Dont worry, I'm getting that 'We're all mad here' feeling!

I've had mourning doves [wild natives] in for care & release, & i raised a few rock-dove chicks [feral "city pigeons" native to the Middle East; the bar-winged blue is the wild type; whites, fawns, pied, charcoal, etc, are domesticated morphs].

yes, i miss having beasties of my own. :( I can't cuddle a Tillandsia, LOL. But it's great to see a client's dog doing better, & both owner & pet happier - very rewarding.

To load a photo on this thread, go to the blank "REPLY" / 'comment' form at the bottom of the thread, enter some text, then click Upload file -
if U have the photos on Google Photo, as i do, i take a screenshot of the photo i want, i click 'Upload' under the comment box, i type 'photo' in the upper-right corner of the file-box that pops up, & my most-recent screenshots are listed, in the order they were taken.
I choose the one i want by clicking, it highlights, I click "OPEN" on the bottom right of the file-box, & it downloads to my pending reply.
I choose FULL SIZE, & it appears in my comment box with the upper-left corner of my photo aligned with my cursor, on the left margin of the "page". I add any more text, i sign, & i click POST REPLY. Done! :)

Hi Terry, wow, that's sounding technical but I will try to attach some pics to this reply!?...

I had collared dove siblings a couple of years ago on rescue and release and a fancy pigeon cross out for a week in the winter, who I named Squared to match Pi (now I just need one to call R! Lol) who I found up the road freezing on the pavement. I try to do mostly rescue and release but Pi, who like you say is just the ferrel Rock Dove sort of city pigeon can't go back unfortunately. The vet told me that 'its not worth it, just put it to sleep' which I wasn't having any of! I trained as a vet nurse (ANOTHER very long story! Lol) so I just fixed him up and kept him. He's happy, so I'm happy I've also taken in all sorts of pet and wild little birds, mammals and a few reptiles over the years, that's where my nickname Cat came from, my Mum swears I walk around with treats in my pocket because I always came home with some broken or beaten stray animal! My poor Mum!!!

I very much doubt an air plant can show affection though Now to catch the Hawk Moth that's loose in my room and attempt this photo linking doodaa....

Um... Try again....
