This afternoon we put the boys in the car, collected Rob from school, all wrapped up warm and went to Stithians lake for a frosty walk.

The lake was frozen solid, the first time in 20 years this has happened.

Lovely pictures, it looks really cold! Your boys look lovely and snug in their fleeces though :huggles:

I wouldn't let the boys go any further than they did and ian was only stood on a section a couple inches deep but the ice was very thick... this mroning some people had their dogs running free in the middle of the lake, which I think is bonkers.

PMSL Ian was saying here I can walk on water

Oh heck yes

A girl phoned into Pirate radio this morning, Rach, and said it was -11 on her car

thermometer in Cornwall this morning!!! (w00t)

It was -9 here, so I can well believe it.

And apparently Padstow Harbour froze over yesterday too - SALT WATER!!!!!!!

.......... I like the pictures - made me feel cold just looking at them

Lovely pictures rach,

My dad was on exmoor today and he said the water falls were frozen!!!

Funny Claire I thought exactly the same when I saw Rachaels pictures....hear too many nightmares about people and dogs becoming trapped

under ice and drowning... (w00t) so scarey.....

but I was sure Rachael would be more than sensible around that ice....unlike some other people she mentions...how stupid is that...

Well it was -10 at Stithians but -4.5 here at the new house last night.

I over heard some one say they had photos of the dogs running across the middle of the frozen lake (w00t) expect they will be in the west briton mora

What gets me is there is a sign that says not to let dogs off the lead around the lake yet they do.... :-

I heard that too Jane.... how on earth did that happen??? must of been very calm

yeh gives me the 'shivers' too when I see people on frozen lakes :sweating:

your boys are brave. Ella HATES the cold, she was skidding down our pavement on thin ice like Bambi and looking very miserable too, couldn't wait to get back to her warm bed ;)
