:teehee: a Lurcher came 1st at sanderingham finals a bloody good dog .As for the dog that came 2nd THE RESCUE was a GREYHOUND an exracer not a RESCUE just retired as i know this dog and she is only 3yrs old.So fairplay to the lurcher that beat it. Bert
Im Poppys owner, the dog that was reserve at Sandringham-for information she IS a RESCUE and NOT an EX-RACER-she has never raced at a track (confrimed via the Irish Coursing Club)-she was tried in the traps and was no good-her sire was Distant Fields a champion coursing greyhound and her dam Madam Rollin a track dog. She was sent to a resuce centre in Ireland by her trainer/owner Gerry McGuire and then onto the Dogs Trust in Harefield, where we rehomed her from.Hope that clarifies the situation.
3bitches and 1dog in that litter and they all have raced on the track  I take it Poppy was K****m***e Ann and she was unplaced in 5 races on the track plus 3 trials all at Lifford
 Then dumped in a rescue like most greyhounds untill people like poppys owner rescue them. And shows lurcher people have got some bloody good lurchers too

the owner clearly states Poppy was a rescue and not an ex racer and never raced at a track, clearly she has run on the track. As for lurcher people having some bloody good lurchers  ONE lurcher beat Poppy and if that result was reversed with Poppy winning I doubt the lurcher people would of taken it in good humour

How far back do we have to look? As SBT were 'nt recognised by the KC as a breed until the 1930's

the kennel club has done more harm to dog breeds than any other organisation in britain self apointed fools. and the dog that won was the best on the day ,mind you the amount of byes that happened it could have been run better i wont be wasting diesal going to sandringham again
