Wondering if anyone with experience of boxers could recommend a suitable companion breed?
diesel is coming up on 20 months now and calming down slightly... only in the evenings when he still wants to play but we’re exhausted does his naughty streak show itself.
we were thinking a companion to...
Hi all,
we just got results from Diesels allergy tests. We guessed he was sensitive to some environmental allergens such as grass, weeds and dust but didn’t expect so many common foods to be flagged.
He’s always been slightly itchy but nothing major apart from ear flare-up during pollen...
Our poor little chap has been a bit poorly last week or so.
After running around like a loon in the woods he had cuts in between his toes on two feet. Which are really annoying him. Seems also to be having an allergic reaction to something as his ears are red raw and the feet which don’t have...
HELP!!!
Previously well behaved pup now an 11 month old stroppy adolescent. Driving me mad with his constant desire for rough play and biting.
Read every training book and website I can find, many of which contradict each other. My favourite comment is “don’t let your dog do XYZ”. Ever tried...
Diesel has a nasty bout of colitis as yet cause undiagnosed. Vet has prescribed antibiotics and a few days of chicken and rice to settle his tum.
Of course just realised that we’ve always had him on a cereal free diet to avoid sensitivities common to boxers. So would mashed spuds be a good...
He gave me a real scare today! "walking" our usual woodland route and I noticed Diesel's front right foot was totally covered in blood!
He didn't cry out or anything and seemed happy running round as usual but obviously very concerning. I gave it a quick wipe and applied pressure with...
Hi all,
Totally out of the blue whilst walking Diesel just now a fellow dog walker said “lovely dog, shame his hips are knackered”. Apparently he’s walking funny! I asked what made him say that and his comment was that he's had many big dogs over the years and apparently my pup walks like his...
Hi all,
Diesel is now 20 weeks and still a mental bundle of energy. Next weekend we’re due to meet and walk with our best friends and their dogs. A bit of a walk by the Thames, running on long leads then hopefully pass out knackered in the pub while we have a beer and chat!
I’m so keen that...
I’m sure this has been asked before but can’t find anything specific for boxers so any advice appreciated.
Diesel is now 19 weeks and as of this morning 17.2kg. His diet is prepared raw foot from Narutal Instinct. Following the 6% rule he’s getting just over a kilo per day. We weigh him and...
so, I now understand what new mums mean by ‘baby brain’. I have puppy brain and despite having a maths degree can’t figure this one out...
Most diet info I’ve seen recommends 25% to 30% protein for large breed puppies. All the high quality kibble I’ve seen echoes this advice.
However diesel...
Diesel has just been out for a pee (good lad!) and I noticed small white blobs in his urine. See pic.
Any ideas and do I need to worry? They look a bit like globs of fat or similar? Has been eating his normal prepared raw diet and drinking water laced with goats milk, still won’t touch plain...
So Diesel is doing great and this weekend will be his first walk in the big wide world, assuming he gets better on the leash! So looking forward to burning off a bit of his boundless energy!
Only 2 speeds, sleep or flat out zoomies!
Question; have any of the wise advisors who suggest no...
any idea how I can discourage Diesel from eating dead leaves?
He’s like a bleeding hoover!
I’m checking his mouth now every time he’s been outside.
On the plus side patio is nice and tidy!
Thanks
DD
Hi All,
Brief intro as I'm sneaking a few minutes puppy research while at work...
Just 8 days to go before our first pup Diesel (white boxer) arrives, we met him at 5 weeks and the breeder sent a picture 1 week later and he appeared to have doubled in size! He comes to us at 8 weeks 1 day old a...
