Hi folks, you just know there's a problem when I appear! (w00t)

Just had a call from my vets, someone has just brought a 1yr old male whippet in to be PTS because he 'went for one of the others' last night and bit the owner when she tried to separate them. :(

I don't have any other details yet (he may have just been neutered and don't know if he's a ped or non-ped but he has come in wearing a racing muzzle) but as I'm at work I couldn't stay on the phone long. The vets are trying to pursuade the owner to hand him over to rescue for at least an assessment but I'll not know more until this afternoon when I call in on my way home.

Fingers crossed that this little fella is going to be safe, if he is, my next and obvious question is..... anyone want a stroppy little whippy boy?

I'll update as soon as I know more, I just pray this lad gets a chance :'(

Jules

Yes , we need to know WHY he went for the other dogs too . Please that the Vet managed to save him :luck:

Dunno if he is safe yet :( Waiting for a text from vets. Will get as much info as poss on him though

:luck: :luck: I do so hope he's going to get a second chance

Good News :luck: lets hope for a good outcome.

Jules you are the Saint of all things whippety. :D

Please let us know how the little man gets on, and post some piccies of him.

Give him a big kiss from me and tell him that everything will be alright now that Aunty Jules has him :D

Lets hope this youne boy get a fair deal and can be rehomed saftly

Glad he has been saved :) , but lets not assume too much about the situation before we all know :- "

It could be the attack was one in a sequence of events that may have also included aggression towards humans - or it could have been just an owner wanting to get rid of a dog for no real fault of its own :(

Look forward to the update Jules

fingers crossed hes safe now.hope it was just an owner looking for an excuse to get rid.they do come out with the most awful excuses sometimes

Thank goodness he's safe :sweating:

Good luck with this little guy :luck: Well done for at least getting him a chance

OMG he's gorgeous (w00t)

I'll have pics later, only got a quick look at the vets on the way home from work earlier and he was just coming round from having been 'done'. I opened the cage door to see him and he started wagging his tail and squirmed across to rest his head in my hand :(

Will have to see what he's like with the other hounds here but by the sounds of it, this was just a dominance scrap with another whippet - neither of which have any marks on them from it - and the owner just got bitten when she grabbed hold to separate them  I get the distinct feeling that this may have been an excuse to be rid of him to be honest :(

I'm going to collect him in the next hour, will settle him in as he'll be groggy then I'll take some pics

...as an ironic twist (those of you who helped me with the Newcastle pound whippets will appreciate this one) he's called Jake..... :D :- "

Aww - cant wait to see Jake. Get well soon little man. :luck:

Its nearly been an hour.............looking forward to seeing the pics. well done for helping him. Give him a  and a :huggles: and have a  yourself. LOL
