1yr Old Whippet Due To Be Pts

Well done Jules :D Makes me worry about their other whippet if they'll try to get this one pts so easily :(

Look forward to the photos :huggles:

Well done Jules, I'm really glad that I have only just picked up this thread - otherwise I would have had no finger nails left.

Fingers crossed that this little man is just a victim of the lets get rid of it brigade, it bit me - the kids - another dog -the list goes on.

I remember when I was doing rescue, our vets gave us a call to take on a collie X that had been taken in to be PTS by it's owners for going for one of the kids (she hadn't actually bitten) The vet had known the dog from being a pup (she was 2 at the time) and insisted on checking her over before putting her to sleep - he found 1 1/2" of pencil snapped off in her ear!!! I'd have had the kids PTS!!

She was with me for some time while I assessed her - I found no problem at all with her, she was re-homed to an older couple with a warning never to leave her unattended with children. (They were told the full tale,) Now aged 7, she adores her owners grand children and is an absolutely brilliant dog.

I really hope Jake proves to be the same.

Jake is currently protesting loudly in my kitchen while I'm up here :D

Here he is! Sorry it's not a very good one but I'll have to wait till Roy's home before I get any decent ones as Jake is being a velcro whippet 99% of the time, bless him

He's said hello to some of the others through the crate door but he needs to rest for now after his op, will try intos tomorrow I think to let him get used to being here a bit more first. I'll update later (w00t)

He's beautiful  Well done you

What a lovely heartwarming outcome.

And isn't he a handsome looking chap??

Well Done!

From what I've seen so far this is one very nice, very friendly, very loving little whippy who is missing his Mum and pals very badly right now :(

He's met 8 of the hounds here so far, and is currently mooching around upstairs with 5 of them with no hassle at all. Old Amber has grumbled at him (she grumbles at everyone) and he ran away....

Makes me so sad to think he was going to be killed this morning. :'(

 aw look at his lovely tail!

Well done for getting him safely away from a PTS situation, Jules. Funny that he's called Jake - someone's trying to tell you that you personally need a dog called Jake in your life :- "

ah, sweet curled tail! he looks a very grown-up mature one year old, doesn't he?

sounds like he has had a very lucky day :luck:

well done

Well done Jules......Please ask if help is needed to pay vet bills for this little Jake. He looks non-ped to me, I fancy not fast enough to earn his keep. Poor love
