My mums partner was driving home when he spotted something white on the side of the road (it was a country road) and when he pulled over he realised it was a rabbit!

He went over and was able to stroke him without the rabbit running away so he scooped him up and took him home (My mum was very excited at the prospect of a pet rabbit)

After ringing a few vets he took it to the 'Pets at Home' one who he said were the friendliest and most helpful and willing to take him in.

When he got there the vet said 'I know this rabbit!' who was actually due for a check up that day! He had arrived but his owners hadn't :D

And the strangest thing was he was called, Dennis!

Oh my god, that's crazy! How on earth did he end up on the side of the road?! So weird that the vets knew him and he had an appointment! That's so crazy

They gave their number so they could call but so far they haven’t heard anything!

It’s really strange!

Yow - that is worrying. // Has anyone asked the local police to check on the owner/s?
A welfare check would not be uncalled for, IMO. I would wonder if they'd been robbed, assaulted, etc, & the bunny stolen or escaped. :(

* Rabbit Update *

My mum phoned the vets and it turns out the owners don’t want him anymore, Which basically means they dumped him off on a country lane!

It turns out he was at the vets the previous evening as he has been having problems with his teeth. He was even microchipped!

The vets said it is likely going to be an ongoing situation with his teeth (he’s only 1) and they obviously didn’t want to be paying the vet bills!!!

On a happier note, my mum and her partner have said they would love to give him a new home so hopefully he will go and live with them.

WTH! - that's dreadful. . Abandoning an animal whose very life depends on healthy teeth, KNOWING he's got dental issues, is a death sentence.
Why not just euthanize him, if yer too cheap to care for him over his lifespan? - at least that's honest. Dumping him to starve is inexcusable cruelty. Surely re-homing him or putting him with a rabbit-rescue is possible, too.

His former owners need a butt-kicking. // Dennis is so lucky someone found him, before a hawk, a cat, a fox, a car, or his own teeth killed him. I hope they do take him in. :)

It is disgusting!

I think he must have spent one night in the great outdoors. Poor chap :(

Fingers crossed for a happy ending
