i keep banging on about time racing wendy. then people say oh but we have abc racing and your gauranteed two runs. personally im not bothered about 2 runs id rather my dog @ least have a chance to win or be close. i for one hope more clubs take notice weve been doing it @ wallsend since last year and even if theres only 2 racing its 2 more dogs catered for IMO. btw well done with hellish too.

Thankyou to everybody that helped make this weekend the best one we have been to,especially Vicky and Mark who have been planning this for a long time. A lot of hard work and it paid off, Mark ran more times than any of the dogs this weekend (w00t) . Have to mention the lady chefs they did a great job, the trap lads, lure driver, and all who worked both days at the winning line, to Jak for taking photos. A big well done to the winners and all who took part, congratulations to the supreme winners, and a special well done to the Marsh Brook Bear pups Meave Marsh Brook Meave, Alfie Dot To Dot, Leo Spit'n'Image.

Lynn xxxxx

C'mon get photos on jacqui (w00t)
Mithering git! :p

Entertainment piks are over with Vicky so she can put them in her report (it'll work better that way)

I'm midway through racing piks (takes longer now as I have to tag which dogs are in piks so racers can pull out piks of their own dogs on website)

Caravans started arriving on Thursday night with more landing Friday afternoon onwards. Over those two days we had some heavy rain, unfortunately we couldn’t risk vans going onto the football pitches and churning them up and people thankfully respected that by staying on the borders and some parking on the hardstanding.

Loads of the club regulars helped set the track up along with those staying over.

Friday night we were all ready and gathered in the club for a few drinks and a good laugh (I don’t think anyone got away without some abuse off Craig lol).

Early Saturday morning the sun was out and excitement building for the weekends racing, more cars lined the field and people were arriving from all over the country.

Mark and Craig weighed the dogs in and the scales went down for 12pm, cards out and everyone in place, racing got underway for 1.15pm.

A total of 66 dogs (an improvement of 19 dogs on last year), a different format this year that although longwinded people seemed to like.

Racing got underway with heat 1 of the up to 24lb dogs and what a brilliant start, Andy Parncutt’s lovely little Make it Four the clear winner, Joe a regular at our club has improved 100% this season and is really enjoying his racing now, the delight on his owners face as he picked him up is what racing is all about and I hope this is their first win of many at open level. Heat 2 Branco Boy looked impressive for John Noble, from Andrews Twist n Pulse. Heat 1 of the 32lb Dog saw a win for another club regular Hagler, some impressive racing this dog has been putting in over the last few weeks and this win today showed that he can’t be ruled out. Heat 2 saw a win for Classic Rock, a very strong competitor when he’s right and it’s rare that he’s not. Today’s win showed he’s still one of the best. Heat 1 of the 24lb Bitches and a brilliant race saw Ride a White Swan cross the line the winner from Tall n Tiny. Heat 2 and another win for John Noble’s dogs, Marillamite coming from the back of the pack from She’s a Flyer. Heat 1 of the 32lb Bitches and a hot race on paper and brilliant right up to the line with Relentless just surging forward from Dirtwater Fox. Heat 2 and another back marker putting in a fine performance to win comfortably in the fastest time of the handicap Keith’s Anagram. Just a two dog race for the 22lb pups and Connor’s Maiden the more experienced of the two digging in and getting to the line just in time. A solo for the 27lb pup Lola but the time very impressive for a youngster. A solo for the 22lb Yearling Marshbrook Meave 9.06. Another two dogger for the 27lb yearlings saw a win for the right handed runner Missy Mu Belle. Onto the pedigrees and apart from Gold Dust Woman having a solo in the 20lber, John & Elaine cleaned up in the other three heats with their gang Sonny Jim, Spudice and Code Red. 4 youngsters all learning their trade in the puppy scratch put on a good performance but it was a 1 – 2 for Mick & Lyn with their white lads Dot to Dot and Spit n Image. A solo for the yearling scratch, Stuart's Killer Queen. Some good dogs on the card for a full heat of the 36lbers and a fine win for Neil’s Diamond Lil in the fastest time of the day. 3 A & T dogs all took on the Cornish Dog Election Day in the 45lb scratch with a dead heat between Miles Away & Little Big Man, Miles’ early foot from the traps in the re-run saw him come out on top. Ricky has talked about the winner of the 55lb scratch since she was a pup but today the dog did the talking, an impressive run from an obviously very fast bitch She’s Hell.

Onto the finals after x-heats in the classes.

First up the Puppy Final, Connors Maiden battled hard but at ¾ there was only going to be one winner and that was Neil’s nice middleweight Lola. The yearlings, Missy Mu Belle chased Meave home hard but the front runner dug in and went over the line the winner. The veterans, a straight final for the three mums Branco a clear winner from Whiskey Fudge who got up for second just on the line. Gold Dust Woman just managed to hang on to the lead in the Pedigree Final from John John & Elaine’s fast finishing duo.

Beau Belle & Red Rascal both w/d from the D Final leaving the win for Dan’s near veteran Vodka Blue. The C Final finished after Laughing Boy w/d as they started with a win for front runner Charlie Pig. A good win from Tall n Tiny in the B Final from a fast finishing Dirtwater Fox. The day’s racing was finished off with a cracking final with the three dog Branco Boy powering past Ride a White Swan just before the line to take the spoils and the huge Mr Benn Trophy back to Middlesbrough.

Presentation done & dusted and a quick shower and change for those attending the race night.

Racers packed the big room in the club for the race night and what a fantastic atmosphere, the compere got everyone involved, with everyone cheering on their runners.

Everyone dug in their pockets for a chance to win the £100 football card, the last few being sold in the club and the winner from the welfare club Dave Meekin came up to collect his winnings.
