I thought I would post some photos from a walk I did the other day as I always only post the Penny pics from walks. It was a dark misty day but up on the hills the sun was shining and the skies were blue. We set off with the sun shining but by the time we reached the top it had set and by the time we had taken a few photos from the top we were heading back in the dark, luckily the path is very straight forward. Here is a small collection of photos, I hope you enjoy.

Wallace Momument above the mist

Your photos are always amazing Sarah.  You live in such a beautiful part of the country - seeing your photos makes me want to go there on holiday.

Sarah lovely pics, but av been workin on a building site for the last 5 months below the Wallace monument, now that pic reminds me of the bloody building site which I don't want to see till Thursday.! Thank god it's misty

Lovely views , thanks for sharing

Stunning photos, Sarah - every single one of them would look beautiful printed and framed.

Thank you Sarah for sharing your stunning photos.

Whenever I plan a trip cross the Forth to have a day out over there I always choose the worst day for weather  .

The third photo of the Wallace Monument is superb. I am sure that you could win a competition with it :)

Ive always wanted to see Wallace monument Sarah...and these are such beautiful photos....so well captured.

not forgetting the lovely ones of Penny too...

Well impressed with them Sarah

What can i say but ..wow.. brilliant photos sarah

Oh wow! What gorgeous photos, my favourite is Stirling Castle peeping through the mist, spectacular!

Penny certainly has lovely walks...

 This brings back memories of a couple of years ago my youngest son ( Paul ) was playing for Falkirk FC and they used to train at Stirling University, there are some beautiful walks around this area and the Sherrifmuir Road that you are taking the pics from can be accessed from the road next to the University and from the road at the otherside of the hill at Blair Logie Kirk ( The old Graveyard up the hill from the Kirk is very old and has some great headstones )

:D But this pic you have taken looking over the Reservoir is one of my favourite views thanks for the memories :D

And this one on a clear day looks the other way and is a fantastic view of the River Forth snaking its way down to the sea out past the power Station next to the Kincardine bridge and if you heve good eyesight you will see the Forth Road and Rail Bridges far of in the distance i always meant to take a camera and never did thanks for sharing :D

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments, I was so glad we decided to venture out that day as I have always wanted to see views like that looking down on the mist, it really was beautiful and there is something peaceful about being up high. Janis you will need to come up this way and visit the Wallace Monument you get great views from the top of that too.

Derekrfc you do get fantastic views from that walk, you are right there are great walks around that area. We keep meaning to drive further down Sherrifmuir Road and see where else we can find or maybe drive up from the Dunblane area one day. It has only been recently we started walking in the direction I don't know why as it is a really lovely area, we walked to the top of Dumyat in September on a lovely sunny day, I think here are some of the view you mentioned?
