Alfie Has Broken His Leg

Hopefully only one more day until Alfie is back home!! :D

So pleased to hear that the op was successful

only just seen this poor baby

glad the op went well :huggles: for you and alfie

So pleased to hear this good news. You must be missing him like mad even though you know he's in the best hands. I've been watching Sid like a hawk while he's staying with us, because he's an absolute nutter chucking himself everywhere. Nothing you can do to stop them, it's in their nutty whippet genes!

So glad the op went well :) hope everything goes well tomorrow and Alfie  has a smooth recovery ;)

:luck: :luck:

When I phoned this morning to see how Alfie was the vet nurse said he was much brighter today :) and managed a wee tail wag for her when she went in to see him first thing. He had eaten his breakfast too  It still looks really hopeful that we'll be able to pick him up tomorrow at noon. We're just to phone in the morning as they will change his dressing and have another close look at the wound before they let him go so keep your fingers crossed for us. Going to get some liver at Tesco and make liver cake tonight to welcome him home :) The lady I spoke to this morning was telling me how everyone there had fallen for him and how they all love his colouring and his wee face and will miss him when he comes home. I'm so impressed with this practice and the care Alfie has received there. Should be talking to the vet again this evening so if there's anything to report I'll let you all know

Really pleased to hear that Alfie is doing well. I am sure that with the great care and attention he is being given, it will only be a matter of time before he is back to his old self again.

I'm so pleased to hear that Alfie is doing well, I hope all goes to plan and you get him home with you tomorrow, it must be awful not having him around. Lucky Alfie getting a tasty liver cake for when he gets home. Im not surprised everyone at the vets has fallen in love with him  Lots of gentle hugs for Alfie :huggles:

Jo, me, Mummy Rubes and all Alfie's rellies here are sending him huge hugs and love ready for him coming home tomorrow.

Yep, we certainly are. I said to Jill that it must seem very quiet in her house without him :(

Sending lots of :luck: :luck: today for Alfies  homecoming :huggles: You must be so excited to be having him home :)

I really hope Alfie heals quickly and is soon running around again with his Uncle Blue :huggles:

Thinking of you :huggles:

Alfie is in the building :D :D :D He's had a little cuddle and a sleep next to me, then out for a wee (he is able to put a little weight on the broken leg already) back in for some food and a piece of liver cake which he wolfed down and a nice drink of water then back to snuggling and snoozing :huggles:

His dressing comes off on Tuesday, then the stitches should come out around 10 days later. He's to have strict crate rest for six weeks - poor wee soul will be so frustrated but, for the time being, he seems content just to be home

Welcome Home Alfie! Now be a good boy for your mummy and make sure you rest plenty so that leg heals well.

I have only just read this, oh poor Alfie and you. Good luck with the recovery and keeping him quiet. We went through the cage rest for 6 weeks with Dolly so wish you well. Keep us posted on how he gets on.
