Ouch!! Poor Alfie :(

Hope he makes a quick and full recovery :luck: :luck: :luck: :huggles:

Oh poor little Alfie :(

My heart is in my mouth when Tizzy Izzy is leaping around and playing rough with the others, it shows how easily these things can happen.

Sending you positive vibes and good luck :luck: :luck: for a full recovery - I'm sure he will be fine as it sounds a clean break and he is young and flexible

Oh no :( poor Alfie and poor you :( it must have been a real shock, so here are some :huggles: for you and some more for Alfie  :huggles:

:luck: :luck: at the specialists today, as others have said Alfie is very young so should mend quickly

Sending lots of healing thoughts your way :luck:

Poor Alfie :( but it sounds like he is getting the very best care and I'm sure he'll be bounding around again in no time. These things just happen with mad little whippets! They do recover very well at this age.

Good luck :luck: with the specialist today and hope Alfie is back with you ASAP.

Oh poor little man, so sorry to hear he has hurt himself, I hope its easily healed and he's back to normal soon - big hugs to you all xxx

poor Alfie, wishing him a speedy, painless recovery, hugs to you all

Sorry to hear this - so easily done.

All the very best for Alfie today.

Have only just read this and I am so sorry to hear Alfie. Have just pm'd you.

Poor Alfie :( They will go silly won't they :p I hope he has a very speedy recovery. I'm not sure where in Scotland you are, but I have an old friend who is an orthopaedic specialist in Stirling, Andrew Miller, he is brilliant. He works by referral only, and this is his practice. I would travel from Hereford to see him!

If you do manage to see him, please tell him best wishes from June in the Afternoon from his Animed days :D

Wherever Alfie goes, good luck :luck: :luck: :luck:

Poor wee Alfie! :( So sorry to hear that Jill, I am sure he will make a full recovery as youngsters heal quicker than older dogs.

What a horrible thing to happen though, poor you! Hugs from P and C for you. x

Poor Alfie.............Wish him a speedy recovery :huggles: :huggles:

Just read this - how horrible for Alfie (and you) - here's wishing him a speedy recovery!

xxx

I am very sorry to hear about Alfie's accident,I did tell Rachel to pass on my best to you when she told me last night but now I shall do it myself too!

If you can get some comfrey into him, that will help...I swear by it for the horses, dogs and us! It is fantastic stuff and really aids in a speedy recovery, you can give it orally as well as topically (which you won't be able to do if he is in a splint) . On the bright side........if it had to happen at least it happened whilst he is still young...and soft, young bones heal much faster than older ones!! All the very best with him & sending healing thoughts his way from all of us at Mossbawnhill x :luck: :huggles:

I have just got off the phone after speaking to Jill and Ian, who are feeling much more upbeat today after Alfie's visit to the specialist (who sounds fantastic). It sounds extremely positive that within a couple of months it will be like the break had never happened, although Alfie will be the bionic dog from now on :D

I can not stresss how relieved I am to know he will be ok :sweating:

That is such great news rachel :D :D made my day hearing this :)

:luck: :luck: Alfie, you handsome boy

Good to hear that news, thank you Rachel

....... so there'll be no future escaping through airport security gates for Alfie then?? :- :D

Thanks June ... and thanks to everyone for all these lovely, supportive messages. They really do make us feel better :huggles: Alfie was referred to a specialist orthopaedic surgeon in the East Neuk and both Ian and I felt so much better after he had spoken to us and explained what he's going to do. Alfie will be getting a metal plate and screws and the vet is confident that there is a 98% chance of him making a full recovery from this injury. His operation will either be tomorrow (and he will come home on Saturday) or - if they have to order in a special size of metal plate to fit his bone - the operation will be on Friday and he will come home on Monday. I'll keep everyone posted and thanks again for all your support and kind wishes. :)

He's in good hands Jill,,trust me :D ,,,Steven did colts leg,,he got full use of his leg,,and Steven told me,,he could race
