Archie Injured Now,...

Ouch, looks nasty. hope he feels better soon. :huggles:

Ouch. Poor brave Archie.

I've had 4 of mine stitched back together recently (Supe did a fab recall, got caught on barbedwire, finished the recall on 3 legs bless him). Star is the last of them and her stitches are due out today. So poor Archie has the full sympathy of Supe, Vader, Leia & Star.

None of mine had a general either, just a local and Vader & Supe had a bit of sedation too (dont tell Supe I told you but he had to have a rabbit needle for his sedation (w00t) )

Leia's got yet another nasty scar now :( but the rest have healed up well.

Have those staples stayed in?

The wound is much drier Rae this morning....he slept with us last night so I could keep my eye on him....or rather the other two..

The staples are still in Rae....there is one thats not so good...but the vet said to take him back if Im at all worried. Where the tiny gap is...seems to be drying up well at the moment.

He is taking things easy this weekend... :huggles:

Poor Archie :( , my only experience with staples was a thigh wound Jack had years ago, but due to the location of the wound, whenever he stretched the staples popped out, after three atempts to re-staple him at the vets, it was felt best just to let the wound heal as an open wound, it healed fine, but he had a huge scar to boast about , hope he gets better soon :luck:

Oh Janis how awful for poor Archie...I do hope he is not in too much discomfort. Do you know what made him flee from the others??

I hate barb wire..I have lost count of the amount of times that I have had to stitch my horses back together from lacerations from the dreaded stuff....thing is living in the country and having livestock ourselves I can understand why farmers use it as cattle will just walk straight thru bull wire and into a potentially dangerous situation if they get out onto the roads so unless the farmers use electric (which is far more expensive) they have no option but to use the barb.

Sending him :huggles: from me and my lot xx

Sorry Janis I completely missed this post.

Hope that Archie is on the mend today :huggles:

Sorry I completely missed this too - what an awkward place to catch himself. I'm sure it will heal up in time  Sending lots of :huggles: to Archie

Hope he is feeling better soon.

I have been offline for ages, I am so sorry to hear about Archie Janis. How is he doing?

He is doing well Fiona, thank you. Hes back to the vets Tuesday to hopefully get those staples removed...

We have had to lead walk him....so he will love the freedom again soon. :luck:

How is Mojo doing these days??

i missed this thread too.ouch that looks sore. :( poor Archie, hope it heals well :luck:

Aww thanks Kris...

he was milking it at first like they all do...

awwww, bless him! :huggles: well thats dogs for you, always on the take!

So glad he is doing well! Poor little man. Mojo is finally fixed. After about 3 months he had one bit of glass removed and the painkillers, antibioitcs xrays........he still was limping so i took him in and said that there had to be something still in there! They knocked him out again (after saying that there wouldnt be anything there, if there was there would be an infection) and guess what found another bit of glass!! With alot of tlc and walking on the lead he is finally ok!! I am now paranoid about glass on the pavement. Archie looks like he is growing up fast!!

I don't know how I missed this. :( I guess Archie is much better now than when the photo was taken....hope so. :huggles: for him
