It was such a lovely day on Tuesday that I decided to take the camera out without the dogs and get some pictures around the village.

The path up to the church

The Woodhead Pass - it's not often you see it without loads of lorries and cars :-

These fields are great at the moment for the whippets to run in as the sheep have disappeared for a while - I should think they've been taken in for lambing.

Children enjoying sledging down the dam side - though I think they should have been in school!

They are all really beautiful scenes. Derbyshire is really similar to Weardale where we live in my opinion.

Do you know something Gillian these pictures looked clearer on fb for some reason, Im a bit dissapointed with

photobucket right now...might be something to do with pixel sizes or something...but they seem to loose something

from them as soon as I upload anything onto there now....do you find this too.

Sorry dont mean to say there is anything wrong with your pictures, if you see what I mean. :))

I think this part of Derbyshire is quite similar from what I remember of Weardale from many years ago! And you have the mining heritage (I think - it's something industrial isn't it? :b ), whereas round here it was the mills. And the hills are similar shapes too - quite flat on top.

I think the quality of the photos is due to them being reduced on K9. They seem better if you click the view in full size button, but it would take too long to do that for all photos unfortunately.

Great Pics would put some of mine taken today of my Whippets and horses in the snow but can't seem to post photo's anymore

lovely scenic pics gillian  such a pretty village where you live. :)

Beautiful scenery :D

I love the black and white shots - I've always preferred b+w to colour

Has all your snow gone now, Gillian, or have you had more today?

We had an inch or two last night. It's gone from the main roads and paths, but there's still plenty around on the fields and hills. One more day until it's gone I would think. But it looks as though it's going to stay cold for a while. Have you still got some?

fab pics  i like the b&w ones

No. All gone by this morning :(

Shame really, as it made everything feel so much cleaner for 24 hours

Ah well. Such is life
