to give my opinion- my mums lab- 'scotty' is now 15 months, he is planned to be a stud as he's an excellent example of the breed. but if he wasnt going to be a stud dog then he would be castrated around now- as he's FULLY developed :blink:
and is starting to be very naughty- ie- escaping from his kennels and running around our village in search of a girlfriend- broke through the mesh! and launched himself over 6.5ft wall......
thank god we found him- mum was going to take him to vets the next day, but then we saw his handsome good looks and decided to stick to the plan we'd made for him :sweating:
my Mum in laws flat coated retriever was done at 6 months- and is a loony- never grew up and is a very large and powerful 'puppy' still at 6 years old, i would never castrate a dog at that age, i recently had to assist a gsd castrate and i was fuming- he didnt even have proper ones yet! so sad really.
