when I worked at the Children's Hospital many moons ago we used to keep a book of all the funny, but very true names parents 'bestowed' upon their offspring, can only remember a few of them now....

Annette Curtin

Toby Train

Ricky Bacon (nicknamed 'Streaky' by all the nurses)

it's those called Richard Head,John Thomas and the unimaginative ones we should feel sorry for, like David davids, Thomas Thomas, William Williams etc :- "

What was the young lady called in big brother-allegedly-bullied by jade goody?

did that not have a similar ring to it?

there was a 'Jimmy Crow' at our school  -(Bogie)

there's a few 'Corey's about too (w00t) -(Willy)

I suppose many so-called nick names are regional-and don't have the same meaning in other areas.....

I have an Orlando in my class!

I used to work for the Benefits Agency and like an earlier post we kept a book. The 'best' that I remember were a family of 6 children. At the moment I can only remember 5 but they were:

Gershwin Summertime [boy]

Jesu Jeff [boy]

Tahoma [girl]

Ohio [boy]

Georgia Sweething [girl]

Annoyed that I just can't remember the 6th.

Hope the family don't come on here (w00t)

Pauline

We've had some 'flowery' names at school - it's that sort of rich but alternative area

Amaryllis

Blossom

River

Forest

Willow

Xenatasha who had an extrememy long double barrelled surname also

My Brother who has a bit of an obsession with Scotland named his twin daughters Iona and Tiree - Iona is kind of normal, Tiree is an island close to Iona.
