I cannot believe that a month has gone by already. Bella has continued to make herself right at home.

She is recovering really well from her OP and has been allowed to run free at last  She was supposed to take it easy off the lead for the 1st week or two but needless to say she takes off like an exocet missile   She and Toddy have great fun

We do have more than a few issues at present.

Pack hierarchy (Lilly is depressed :( ), Toddy can be snappy :( ), chasing, bikes (today's latest party trick  ), chasing other dogs (that will get sorted right off :( ), chasing bunnies (well, she is a whippet :- ) to name but a few. I cannot say life is easy but we are working on it.

Recall is not bad considering she has only been here a month and has been on a lead for most of that time o:) .

Son and husband are going to be roped into bike training this weekend ;) :teehee:

My walking friends are going to help with her rushing up to strange dogs and barking at them. (That may take a bit more work) :sweating: :sweating: :sweating:

She is easy to have around indoors and is an absolute poppet apart from trying to push the others out of the way and nab all the attention :ermm: .

Oh yes, and the sofa thing (our dogs have beds and only get on the sofa if invited!)

Foxy and Misty (the oldies) have seen it all before and after Toddy regard Bella as a saint

I bought 2 new beds for the dogs (they needed the space) one smaller 31" and a large 39" one.

As you can see from the 1st photo, it is amazing what will fit into a 31" dog bed  (sorry about the redeye).

There are 3 whippets in there 1 x 20", 1 x 19" and 1 x 18" whippet in there (w00t) (w00t) (w00t)

Thanks Eve, really good to hear how she is getting on. Sounds like you have your work cut out for the next little while :sweating: Sure it will all be worth it

Oh lovely lovely (slightly naughty) Bella  . You have no idea how lucky you are to have the mummy that you do.

Beautiful pic of them all snuggled in. Bella's looking so shiney now

Sounds like she's really settling in. (w00t) :clown:  Good luck with your efforts to correct some of her less desirable habits..sounds like you are taking a very positive approach

omg! i wrote out a big long reply to this and forgot to push send and clicked view new post ahhhh!!

Bella is just lovely and looks so settled eve

cant wait to meet her again, and see her on the lure (w00t) see if she gives the others a run for their money (w00t)

see you soon xx

She is gorgeous and it sounds as though she's in exactly the right place to give her the training and guidance she needs (doesn't sound as though she had much input in her previous home). I hope we're going to get lots of updates

Bella can certainly run (w00t) (w00t) (w00t)

She is probably a lot more focused than Toddy (and certainly has more brains :D ).

I can't believe she's been with you a month already (w00t) Good luck with all the training :luck:

Glad to hear that you're "getting there" with Bella

The sofa thing may be demonstrative of her being "needy", alot of working dogs that have received scant love from their ex-owners seem to suffer from this.

Molly was very "needy" when she arrived here and is still straight up on the sofa if I sit down (although we do allow unconditional sharing of the sofas here :) )

Good luck with Bella's ongoing rehabilitation :luck:

I,m so please she has settled so well

The trouble is that Bella is 'needy' even when we are not on the sofa ;) (w00t) :D . In fact, I think she views it as her own special privileged place :teehee: She is happy enough to share a DOG bed if needs must :teehee: You can see her looking to see if I am watching before she slithers sneekily onboard. If I appear, she is off like a shot :D She is quite a Madam
