Sorry to hear of your sad loss John. I've been popping in here now and again to see whats going on and followed your plight with admiration. You, Storm and the rest of your wider family and friends persevered until the last when you knew it was time.

It's got to be one of the hardest decisions you could ever have to make but when it comes down to it, you had the strength in your heart and the love and loyalty to Storm to decide what to do.

I'm sure there will be many others who felt heart-broken reading the many tributes and messages of loss and condolence but I'm certain that in the circle of friends that I have seen you all with at NDLTC, there will always be support and sympathy for what you have been through.

Sincerest wishes for the future

Mark Emerson

So sorry stormy....storm will always be in the thoughts of everyone who knew/read about him.

such a brave fight . Take care and you'll be reunited with your boy one day x

R.I.P storm....you will be missed x

sorry the old dog could not pull through john. when you gave him the wee run during the summer after his treatment i thought he looked like a dog half his age. at least you have his son colt to carry on the legacy. condolences from myself. and i applaud you for your dedication to the end and making the right decision when no harder question can be asked of any dog man. it was a privelage to run Bouncer at the lure against storm and his progeny even if he is always eating their dust. ADAM.

Only just read this John , :(

I know exactly how you feel , , you know the `look` when its time , and at least we have the honour of being able to end any suffering . we do it out of love for our dogs . He had a life many dogs would dream of ,

My thoughts are with you and I hope your Storm and and my Woody are chasing rabbits together ( although Woody really prefered crows )

Im sorry im behind on this, I didnt realise untill i read a post about the portrait as i dont tend to browse on the lurcher forum.

Im so sorry about the loss of Storm, :( I dont know you at all but i can tell from your posts, the way you speak so much from your heart about this dog that he meant the world and more to you, and ive been in tears reading this.

He looked a beautiful , honest boy

Run Free Storm x

I missed this thread when it was first put on - probably because I couldn't bear to come on for a bit, having lost our own dear Wlllow only days before. So I know exactly how you felt then and must still be feeling -that huge dog-shaped hole just doesn't shrink.

John, our dogs are waiting for us just past where we can see them and their presence will always be with us and their brave spirits watching over us.

Storm chose you and he wil be your soul-mate until you meet again. Thinking of you and feeling your loss. Hugs Janet
