I assume that, as the CC is awarded to a dog worthy of the title CHAMPION and the RCC is a reserve in case the KC withdraw the CC eg the dog was not correctly entered in the show, then if the judge thinks that no other dog is worthy of their title then the RCC can be withheld.

If the BCC goes to a Wolfie dog and is taken away from them - the RCC is then awarded the CC (or a I wrong? ) assuming it is a Whippet bitch. But if the judge thought no other dog was worthy of their title then (s)he could withhold?

 

Surely, if the CC can be withheld as no dog is worthy of being a Ch, then you must be able to withhold the RCC where (in your opinion) there is only one dog ie the CC winner worthy of their title.

 

I know I'm probably wrong but the KC's logic doesn't make sense.

I think that might pretty much some it up, I don't think you can withhold the RCC just like if you withhold 3rd place you cannot place 4th and 5th.

The other good one of course is groups, if the whippet puppy is BOB and comes 2nd to Afghan in the Hound Group, it automatically wins the Puppy Hound Group even if the Afghan puppy is present, which it has not beaten.

I know you know this but we still have to explain it to judges who are doing the groups!
