If possible I'd go along without Buster next week and see if you are happy with the class, the trainer and the methods they use.
Unfortunately (as you've already found out) some trainers are still stuck in the Barbara Woodhouse era.
Look for kind, reward-based training - make sure the dogs and owners look as though they are enjoying it.
