Archie seems a bit subdued this morning...he wasnt keen on going out, dosnt want to play ...and is a bit lethargic. Ive noticed his two big teeth at the front are about to drop out and the new teeth are just behind.... gums slightly swollen...

can it make them feel off colour slightly  he just dosnt seem himself at all. :(

Is it worth a trip to the vets, or would you see he he goes today??

Aww i hope Archie is ok and just having an off day

I wouldn't have thought his teeth would make that much difference to his behaviour. I would just keep an eye on him for today, then take it from there. I take it he hasn't got an upset tummy or anything like that? If it is OK give him a bone or hoof to gnaw on. If you take him to the Vet about his baby canines still being in the chances are they will want to give him a GA and take them out, which will probably be totally unnecessary. Sometimes the baby canines take ages to come out even when the adult ones are through but don't generally need a Vet's intervention in 99% of cases.

:( Bless. Hope he will be ok. I know my pup was a bit off colour when he was teething, nothing specific, but just not himself. It's the same as kids teething I suppose but he should be ok in a day or two.

Lots of hugs and kisses to him :luck: :clown: :luck:

olivers got his top two teeth through and the ones next to them have fallen out also, hes never been subdued with them neither was any of my others,so not sure if it could his teeth or not :(

hope archies ok :huggles: and i would keep a eye on him today but if he hasnt picked up by tea time i would get him checked over by a vet.

finley wasnt well a couple of nights ago though he was eating ok he kept putting his head round to his back as if he was in pain, wouldnt lay down unless he was on one of our knees, still dont know what was wrong but he was fine again by the morning,i put it down to too many apples at the nature reserve and must have given him the belly ache :huggles:

No he didnt have an upset tummy Caroline, he didnt want any breakfast this morning which is not like him, he hasnt played and is just moping in his bed.

I have brought him a couple of wing tips which he has eaten, but he looks a bit sort of sad..

Thanks Trish.....if he dosnt look any better later, I will take him to the vets.

Murphy had a few quiet days while he was teething. Some days he hardly wanted anything to eat cos his gums were too sore, but the next day he wouldn't stop. Mind you he is a wimp.

Janis, tia was like this a couple of weeks ago ,but by the following morning she was fine like the last 24hours hadnt happened ,i put it down to teething as well as she was chewing her ball loads ,she wasnt right at all ,was going to take her to the vets following morning but she was bomming around the place like a nutter (w00t) but if your still worried by tomoz pop him to vets ,he prob be fine tomoz youl see ,we have off days to and dont feel like doing much suppose dogs get the same :) im off today feeling a bit sicky myself :- "

I can only speak from my own personal experience BUT i would say yes teething can most certainly make some pups feel off colour, loss of appetite, slight upset tummy altho not normally sickness but sometimes slightly loose bowel movements & very sore gums

I guess its a bit like babies teething, some can run a temperature & have an upset tum with it too

I have a pup at the moment who has been very late teething & was off colour for a few days moping about, not much of an appetite & also a bit of an upset tummy. She would not let me even look at her mouth without screaming but i found once the baby canines did come out she settled back down again. :))

Some pups seem to sail through with no problems, for some reason i have found the later they teethe the worst they can feel.

I would keep an eye on him, if you are unduly worried then slip him to the vet but provided no worse i would think it would pass in a day or so.

Lots of pully tuggy games with a ragger is good for getting the baby teeth out

:luck: :luck: :luck:

Billy is teething at the moment, but he been his usual self

Thanks everyone :huggles: ...

Archie is still sleeping and looking sorry for himself.

Ive cooked some chicken so Im going to try and tempt him to eat something later on....hes been out in the garden for a poo - and it is quite normal and he is weeing also...

Aww, dear of him

It could well be his teeth - my GSDs were off colour when they were teething.

I'm waiting for Jinny to show signs of it now ..... wondering how much chewing will be involved (w00t) (w00t)

Hope Archie brightens up soon and won't need to visit the vet :luck: :luck:

 Jane

When our Tiger was teething he had a very rough time of it some days off colour and others he would just sit and cry looking pitiful like it was all our fault :(

so I used to crush ice uo and put it in a small water bowl for him, he used to attack it with avengance and it seemed to give him a lot of relief, he'd buck up and eat something. I assume that the ice used to numb his gums a bit.

Only thing is he still likes crunching ice now and he's a nightmare when you defrost the freezer :D

Hope your pup feels better soon

Marie

Poor little Archie!!! yes im sure they can feel a bit under the weather with teething Finbarr had a few off days he was unsettled and agitated for a while, i think its normal and Archie will over come it i wonder if theres a gel or something you could rub on his little gums???maybe ask the vet

Big hugs to Archie little fella

Rachel and Finbarrxx

Hope Archie is feeling better Janis :huggles:

Evie went a bit off colour when she was teething only lasted about 2days, I did find giving her ice cube to crunch and play with helped, she even loves them now.

Lots of :huggles: :huggles: to little Archie

Archie is much brighter today thanks everyone.. I think his tummy was upset some how because after the reports of his poos being normal.....we took him for a short walk yesterday and he had the squits really bad......plus he messed in his crate quite badly overnight poor lad :( it really smelt bad like hed either eaten something or it was a bug... :x

Anyway hes wanting to play today and seems so much brighter and has had some scrambled eggs for breakfast and Im going to mix some treebarks in his lunch.

but I did notice blood from his teeth....so he is definitely having a bit of jip with his mouth too....

Id much rather have him running round like a loony plaqueing the lads than like he was yesterday.
