Sad news people.

Karen's little man Catch The Bear died today.

Yesterday he was running around the garden in the sunshine with his 2 pups. Today he was again on top of the world and he won his first race. He bounced down to the traps for his second race and when the traps opened he didn't come out.

Colin Jennings resusitated him and went with Karen to the vets where Karen made the awful decision to have Blade pts. As you can imagine Karen is in pieces.

RIP Blade your big bro Red and the rest of the Mahoney pack miss you.

Such a terrible loss for his owners, I am so sorry to hear this.

Sudden death of a much loved pet is terrible to cope with, especially a young and outwardly fit dog (we lost a much loved Dobe to heart disease at a young age). RIP special whippet.

I won't race mine again, I worry for them too much after news like this.

It isn't a hard decision to make in this climate. Best wishes Karen and family, my heartfelt thoughts are with you and your family

This was such a sad day for us as Colin tried his hardest to give mouth to mouth to blade and I was massaging his heart, and did't get much response, it was one of the hardest things we had come across in 31 years of racing for us, and don't want to repeat this ever again, our hearts go out to Karen, Mike Jade and Michael and all Blades Kennel mates and also him becoming a daddy which he will never see, So R.I.P blade you will never be forgotten :wub:

So sorry Karen Mick and family. Blade was a fantastic racer, and so special to your family. Its hard to imagine what you must be going through at this time. Sending lots of love and hugs to you all. Hold on to your lovely memories of him winning races, and doing what he loved best. I'll bet had more love and fun in his short life, than many dogs have in a lifetime.
