Catwalk Dogs

Saw the trailer for this the other day, think it might be quite funny although those who are into showing will prob pick up on the gross inaccuracies (sp?) as I do when I watch dramas on tv related to horses.

I wish I could feel inclined towards showing dogs but I have vivid and horrid memories of showing ponies with my daughter when she was younger. Everyone keeps telling me I would love it but I stil remember the bitching and backbiting with the ponies (I did the whole horrible lead rein thing complete with navy skirt and hat!!) There was so much of 'it's not what you know but who you know' it put me off for life!!

That said, the clip of him being told how to run his dog up (that's the term for ponies, not sure about dogs!) Remember some very extreme cases from LR days where you ended up watching the handler and not the pony!!

Know exactly what you mean , Not necessary in whippets though , there was a lady in Borzois who just fascinated me , Some Junior handlers tend to be well `over the top ` too

My OH says that the programme looks like rubbish , but we WILL be watching the first episode anyhow ;) . Im sure there will be lots of `errors ` and such , but I do like the main actor thats in it :huggles:

There is some of this going on in the dog world, and in some breeds more than others, but in my experience, it is a lot worse in the horse/pony showing world than in dogs. Up to now I have thought the people showing Whippet's seem to be, on the whole, really sporting.
