Brilliant news  I've been thinking of you and wondering how you were both doing. Seems to me the longer they are with you the harder it gets, sadly. Hope you are able to enjoy a wonderful Christmas together :huggles:

That's lovely news about Badger. I hope you have a lovely Christmas with him and spend just as much time together as possible. :santa: Here's hoping he continues being as well as he can.

thanks guys.....all I want for Xmas is to spend a bit of quality time with my dog, then when I have to let him go, I'll be able to knowing we had a special last xmas together. It's really important to me just to get that time with him where I'm not distracted by work and the usual pace of lief and we get some quiet days and a few trips to the woods for a potter together.

thanks again, your good wishes and understanding help keep me going. xxxx

Thank you for the update - I hope you all have a lovely, peaceful happy Christmas, when it gets here ... enjoy your time with Badger. Bless him .. I am glad he is doing all right. Give him a hug from me please.

Gill

Loads of good thoughts for Badger, I hope you have a special Christmas together :huggles:

I am glad to hear that Badger is showing some 'improvement'.

Really pleased Badger has showed signs of slight improvement , and I hope he enjoys his sedate walks in the woods with you

sorry to hear about your pet, i have similar probs with mine he is 10 years old and we had him back at vets again because of the loudest cough i have heard, impression of a sea lion would be about right , anyway vet said it was upper resp but said x ray would see , so xray shows enlarged heart ,which we knew he had, pushing on the windpipe and has got slightly more enlarged since 2 years ago, and so causing the irritation and cough, have now been given prednis to reduce inflamation and torbutol to control cough , as well as him being on vetmedin like badger vet now wants to try an ace inhibitor on top, its difficult with whippets one minute they are running around and next not, hope badger carries on and the meds give him a help.

How is Badger doing, if you don't mind me being nosey?
Hi, no I don't mind at all....he's not doing so well any more and suffered a collapse on 30th December during the night and hasn't really returned to his old self since.

He has seen the vet again and we now have him on Fortekor as well as Vetmedin but it remains to be seen whether it will help or not, either way we don't have a great deal of time now......just to add to our worries he has lost a kilo in weight in a short time and we are having trouble getting him to eat, some days he just doesn't want to.

Having said all that, he has enjoyed a walk most days and all the while he wants to, we will carry on.

Thank you for the update, I must admit I've been meaning to ask after Badger, bless him.

I'm sorry to hear that Badger's not too good. As you say, at this stage you have to just take one day at a time and enjoy him whilst you can. :luck:

I'm sorry to hear he's had a setback, I hope the new medication helps him. Lots of continued good thoughts for Badger and for you :huggles:

Very sorry to hear that. I hope you were able to have a lovely Christmas with him at least and that when the end comes it is gentle. Thinking of you all :huggles:
